Hi, thank you for letting me join here. The last time I joined a support group was when my cat became diabetic. I cried and cried, the last thing I wanted to do was learn about feline diabetes but I did. I stopped crying and learned all I could to take care of him. He lived another five years because I did.
I also met the most wonderful people on earth and have life long friends.
Now it's time for me to stop crying again, put on my big girl panties and learn how to take care of me.
I have neuropathy from uncontrolled type two diabetes. I know, took care of my cat and not myself. I am so angry with myself and feel so embarrassed because I feel it's my fault.
I own a motel with a bar and grill, in season I work about 17 hours a day non stop, eat poorly and take care of everyone and everything else but myself. That somehow has to change.
My bg is doing much better, I have lost about 15 pounds, I'm eating right, seeing a chiropractor and have been taking vitamins and supplements. Quit any artificial sweeteners and alcohol.
My feet are not so bad but my burning fingertips are wearing on me. Everything I do is painful. I have not seen a neurologist yet, can't get in till end of June.
Still learning to navigate around here but hope to have some time soon.
