Ron-
Darn, it is good to see your ever-pleasant profile on the screen! I have been concerned about the extremely nasty weather that the UK has been experiencing and wondering about you, Margaret, the various members of the brood, and "not to mention, the dog." I have written a time or two with out reply but with a bit of uncertainty as to which number is the proper choice.

I finally gave you up for dead, I must admit, until I compared our respective avatars or user photos and saw that you look better than I do. So, I decided to blame Mother Nature. Until recently that was a pretty safe bet but, I swear, have you guys been shooting at Druids or something? Every time I look at the Times it looks as though Odin himself is coming and heading straight for Selling.

Then again, maybe I should postpone the daily news fix until after dopamine parity is reached or something.

I have a bit of catching up to do and will continue via PM this evening. Seriously, though, it is good to know that you still walk the earth although it might be more accurate to say that you "swim" the earth now...

Default A suggestion or request

It is a great book but it can be made even better with little effort simply by producing a PDF version of it available for download. This would make it searchable and this, in turn, would move it off the coffee table and out into the world. With a little luck we might convince the copyright police that the (insert political vermin of your choice) were undermining Western civilization and get lots of publicity.

Actually, we could set up a download option at point of sale locations to allow people who could not afford the real one that could go a long way toward distributing the information, which is our real goal.

Default Rick

We did seriously consider an e-version of the book, and that may be a possibility "down the road." However, when you see the format of the book, so much of the beauty of the artistry would be lost in a PDF version. You just have to hold it in your hands and flip through it to understand. ( you were a contributor, so you should receive a copy, if you haven't already. )
It's truly a work of art as well as a resource book. It could be called a "coffee table book." You can pick it up for 5 minutes, open it anywhere, read a 2-page story and have learned something about. What it's like living with Parkinson's.

It's also an anthology of stories and experiences, many of which were taken right from this forum. We are learning of additional uses for the book, also. It can be used as a guide for discussion sessions of support groups, or as a base for programs.

Rick, Ron, aDoc John and others - thank you for your comments. Ron, if you have not received your copy, I'm certain that Jon Stamford of Parkinson's Movement would love to personally deliver yours.

I have to agree with you and it is indeed a beautiful book. I know you were and are a collective and all contributed but I just have to mention that the layout and visual appeal is totally amazing. Do we have Lindylanka to thank for that? Superb.

Default Thanks for the rat BTW!

I must apologize for the delay But I want to thank you all for my copy plus the hand - er - paw delivery by a rather handsome White Rat. It was uncanny! Like looking in a mirror! Such a physique!

Hi, I do have some copies here in the UK and a list of UK people who contributed stories etc. My apologies for not getting them out to you if you are one of these people. Ron, that means you.....

Rick, your alter ego was one of those complimentary touches that made it all such fun to work on. Blame Violet Green for the paws and whiskers!

Eventually there will be an ebook, but right now we are trying to get hard copies to people it will benefit whoever they are and whose who will help spread a bigger picture of PD than the cardinal signs!

You can find the book on Amazon and at www.parkinsonscreativecollective.org

Look out for information coming soon if you are from outside the US, we are working on this. We all have PD and have never done anything like this before so we are learning as we go. Oh and remember our 'soon' is a bit slower than most peoples

Thanks Doc John for the amazing review, it is currently circling the world.
Much appreciated.

hi folks!

Yes, I sent Rick the white rat with his copy of the book. And yes, Lindy was the incredible graphic designer of the book. For the past year, almost daily, she and I edited it via Skype from the US to UK. It is an e-production although not yet an e-book.

BTW, some of us (the Parkinsons Creative Collective folks) have never met in person. It's truly wonderful how it is possible to work together and produce a book on-line.

Glad you appreciate our efforts.
