Hi Everyone..Welcome to our new community members!..We hope that you find here the support and friendship we have all enjoyed here..Please continue to visit and contribute
I wish everyone a upcoming Happy Holiday..I dont have anything planned, but I was invited to a party that I wont be attending..The party is in the neighboring town of Bristol where a huge 4th of July parade is held on that day, and I wont intentionally put myself in a massive traffic jam..so, so much for that My back is back to normal, and there is no pain whatsoever..The Chiropractor has me coming in this week for a visit, and has been stretching my leg muscles out, and that has improved my gait somewhat I went out fishing 3 times last week, and Im planning on going out in the morning..That has been going well except for the price of conchs has gone down 30 cents per lb in the past 2 weeks..But thats the way it goes in the fishing business..Im just grateful that I can still get out there and do it How was your week?

I've been dealing with major stress of a monetary nature of the worst kind, and I have been holding up under it very well! I credit the giseng and royal jelly which I have been taking four weks now.
I am a real estate developer and real estate really sucks right now. But the banks still want to be fed and the checking account dwindles. So, what do I do? I decide to try to convince them that it will be better for all concerned if they loan me a lot more money to buy a trailer park! Chutzpah! And it really is true in that the land I own for them right now generates nothing unless it sells. But if they help me buy the park it will make its own payment with a little bit left over that can go to pay on the other loans providing I eat grass. The net result is that sometime in the next four weeks I will either be bankrupt of financially secure (barely). And yet I am doing well handling the stress! I am amazed. Other than that it is too hot to go fishing so I'm staying home working on my website. It is still a shambles, but I hope to launch www.parkinsonsonline.org in September. Suggestions are welcome. It will be a refuge if this place gets any wilder -Rick

sorry to hear of your financial woes. Investing in income producing property is always the smart move. I hope you make it thru ok. Can you divest yourself of one of those money "black-holes" that are killing your cash flow, or take on a partner with cash??
It's always a good thing to make money, the trick is to figure out when the train wreck will occur and getting off one stop b4 it happens!! grass isn't so bad either!! all the best to you!! Charlie |

It's been crazy busy here trying to prepare for the upcoming NPF Young-Onset Conference in Chicago July 5-7. We'll be arriving a few days early in order to do the prep work that's required. And then my business has a table in the exhibitors area, so I've been dealing with printers to insure that I have marketing materials ready - t-shirts, new business cards, signs, and other marketing items. Ugh...but I am really looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones. Should be really fun!
Other than that, we've been going through a major heatwave here. Temps in the upper 90's to low 100's with no relief in sight. I love the heat but a break once in awhile would be nice. Have a great week everyone. Off to Chicago...

Rather than getting on with any work - its only 12:50AM here I thought I would do a weekly checkin - for 2 reasons - Steve looks lonely here and there has been so much dri.... lately that I thought mine wont seem so out of place then.
Lasagna is cooked (have to feed self and 20yr son) and the kitchen is somewhat normal after 3 days of no boss in the house. Wife and daughter (17) thats age not number 17 - left on a 3 week bus tour across Canada with 45 dance girls, 5 just graduated dancers and 4 adults - the grads count as adults too, only some of them are not much older than some of the current dancers. With only another 20 days to go my wife and I have not been apart for longer than 6 days in our 30+ years. Work - I am 5 days behind schedule and they are only 3 days gone!!! Major project is a shower that I have been working on (Or more accurately NOT working) for almost a year now. Moving pipes both supply and drain, breaking concrete etc etc. but am supposed to be finished before they return. Helping to delay the work is the task of selling the house that my 93 year old Mom just moved out of. House is lacking in maintenace and full of 50 Years accumulated stuff including that left by the kids. My mess includes a 1968 TR250 on which the garage has fallen in. Neighbours have a right to make the first offer but setting a price or picking an agent is stress I dont need. I guess I cant go to far wrong in any case. At least Mom is having a great time in her new semi assisted apartment - with her new large flat screen TV - at least one thing is done right. Quit stalling Ken!!!! RE hope your transactions go OK and you keep your head above water. Hey where is the DUCK KB??? Had an old 1988 Dodge Caravan that I hadnt licensed for a year since we only had 2 drivers and with neither working full time it was OK. Daughter started to drive(passed first time) and didnt want to drive either a fairly new Honda Odyssey or the Caravan and we didnt want her to buy a car so I replaced the Caravan. I picked a 2005 Ford Escape as the same size as Caravan and yet AWD and with a trailer hitch and roof rack. Wellll .... it was my car for about a day - daughter loves it and wants to buy it, wife loves it and will probably replace the Odyssey next year(after dance) with something similar. I almost never get either car ( I have to book) especially with daughter becoming an assistant manager at McDonalds, dancing, teaching one dance class etc. Odyssey is much more comfortable to drive PD wise. Well I should go and start the dishwasher - have to handwash pots and then drive some drywall screws.... Maybe find some posts to complain about ... take care ,,, ken |

Steve! Glad to hear about the back. Maybe you need to begin a stealth campaign promoting the health benefits of eating conchs to help bump up prices.
Rick, I've never had much entreprenurial drive nor savy, but Chasmo's suggestions sound pretty good. We will be pulling for you. KC, I was puzzled about your concern about the Duck until you mentioned wanting to find a post to criticize! Todd, sounds like a busy, exciting week in the windy city. Take care and enjoy! Nothing to report here except RAIN! Fortunately, we have not experienced anything like Steffi in the UK or next door in Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas, YET. Robert |

I love long weekends - I stretched this one out to five days. Went to the Canada Day parade yesterday, and then my son helped me look for a camera that I can't blur the pictures on. It was very interesting - if anyone is looking, you need optical image stabilization, not digital, for the best anti-shake technology. He and a friend at the store are so into technology, it's really entertaining - they would talk away in their high-tech language, and then my son would translate for me. They figured I needed to buy a memory card that would give me 6000 pictures - I told them I'd be bored by the time I'd looked at 60! Then they pulled out a walking stick that I could use for a tripod if I was too shaky. I also learned that I don't want much zoom (just the 3 times optical that's standard) because the more you zoom, the more likely it is to blur.
I've been digging up a new flower bed. Got really tired of mowing around all these separate shrubs, so dug up the lawn around them, loosened up the dirt, hauled bags of peat moss and compost, and almost have it all dug in. It's been sunny all weekend, so if I don't sleep better after this, I don't know what I'll do. I'm sleeping so badly lately, waking up every hour or so. |
