Say, my son came by on Sunday with our laptop repair, and
to have a visit and do some computer stuff. We had some things for his new house, etc and during this visit I went ...sniff sniff.... hey...what is that neat cologne?

You know what he said? "Mom...you know those AXE commercials where the gals attack the guys wearing it?"
Well, was I embarrassed then? :o:p

cyclelops 01-12-2010 03:52 PM

Oh, I just had to laugh....don't you love the names, Brut....Axe....hmmm, are we encouraging men to smell violent....not violet, violent. Hmmm. Perhaps Popeye and the Old Spice is a bit tamer for us 'older' ladies....

Brings me to the word, MENOPAUSE. What is a pause? It is the button on my Ipod that stops the music temporarily....or the button on the microwave...or treadmill. All temporary. So, is the medical establishment being nice to us Cougars or what??

Mix menopause with a disease, and what do you have? There has to be a name for that....besides the 4 letter words. It is certainly rife with the feeling that suddenly you are living in some one else's body. Very alien.

There is nothing temporary about menopause. It is not a pause. It is for what it is worth, the finale. It's fine, I mean it is nature, but, let's call it something that fits. Any suggestions? Guys watch it here. I am sensitive.:Ponder:

Ok, I have sat here and pondered enough....I have to go figure out if I really want my cabinets painted....I hate big decisions. I would rather select cologne with macho names. I wonder what the guys on Deadliest Catch wear....:Hum:

They wear fish smell:vomit: They smell like fish:yikes:

Nice try, cy, but the Do Re Mi isn't sticking. Who knows what makes one stick and another not? What really honks me off is when it's a commercial jingle (I know, that's the point).

cyclelops 01-12-2010 07:32 PM

LOL, I figured they smell like fish....no Axe for them...save that for the Ax Men....wonder what the Ice Road Truckers wear? Oh nevermind....I need to go to bed, and give this brain a rest....hmm, granite or silestone? Oh, maybe I need to go hang around in lightinguniverse.com ....And people wonder what to do with their time???

This will be me in a few weeks :sad-dollar:

La, La, La, La, La, La, La......hum, hum, hum.

The cabinets are going an off color sage green or maybe you would call it celery green, I dunno...'cress green'. I hope it isn't peuce. (Who says peuce anymore? Sounds like a disease)

Never understood--

--why some people need to cover up theri natural pheremones. THOSE are the real attractants.

And hey, people should wash, if they tend to get gamy after exertion. We're past the point in the Western world at which perfumes and such need to be used to hide the fact that one hasn't been near soap and water in a week.

Dr. Alex Comfort--many of you know who that is, I bet--once said "Treat deodorants the way chefs would treat deflavorants" and that's probably good advice.

I use olive oil and coconut soap and it is great. Usually we put 'good smellin' stuff' on when we get out of the shower....when we are MOST clean, so there is nothing to cover up. I don't do as much 'scent' as I used to....Soap and a good shower is it....then again, I don't have a stressful job where I need to be around people all day.

My dog is smelling rather musky and I know we need a trip to the vet to solve this issue....perfume isn't gonna help this problem.

I think we need to use common scents.

The lower 48 has been much colder than up here in alaska. I drove an hour to anchorage today and there was very little snow no ice for the ice climbers. Its really been unusual here. We have had many days in the 40s this month.

Alaska in the 40's...in January?
Global Warming is not an illusion,
although I do believe that it is a natural, cyclical thing
that this planet is going thru.
But the carbon emissions aren't helping matters.
I think that this is the birth pangs of a new ice-age, coming
sometime in the next 100-200 years- who knows, maybe sooner!
don't think I'll be around to see it though (thank goodness)

Its been cold in the mid-Atlantic states this past week,
but will hit near 45 today & 50 by Sat, then snow flurries
on Sun a.m., and rain Sun p.m. thru Mon with highs around 34.
Its a roller coaster around here.
Don't know whether to wear a turtle neck & long-johns in the morning,
or boxers and a short sleeve undershirt - for work, each day.
Gotta call up the weather report, before I can
get dressed in the a.m. .... What a Bother !!

Usually when it's cold where I am, it's warmer in Alaska and visa versa. That's what the weatherman always says and that seems to be the way it is. it has to do with the atmospheric connection between Alaska and where I live. It looks like you will be in the low 20's today.
