Hello every body,
It has been more than 2.5 months sence I started vaccination, I had symptoms started next day of 1st shot, and asculated after 4th shot, I could not sleep that time of back pain so I skipped the 5th and last shot, then it disappeared sfter three weeks, and now its comming back again harder as numbness in the neurves of my right hand and painful up to my elbow, mild numbness in left hand no pain. I took pain killer shot today hope to reduce the pain. I did not know why its comming back!! Should I do immunim test or somthing? Thank you all. |
If I remember correctly you had a dog bite? What is the status of the dog? If it’s ok and you have had no other exposure completing the series would be more optional.
That said, I think you and I took our shots around the same time and I also am experiencing Increased back pain as well as pins & needles/ numbness in my left arm and hand (also itching at my possible bite site). I’m not sure if it’s part of the timeline or what, but I hope that it helps to know you aren’t alone. I hope otherwise you’re well. |

As for the symptoms it is started next day after first shot for three weeks, then gone and came back two weeks ago but harder with more joint pain, and it raise my anxity again even I was convinced it is not rabies, I have a big week coming, I got a new job and I really don't need this right now but I have to fight my thoughts hard to get through this. |
I hope your new job goes well and the anxiety goes away! Keep us updated!

100 days post exposure
As of today I am 100 days since possible bat bite exposure, 83 days since beginning the shot series (didn't realize bats were getting into our house), and 69 days since completing the series. This has been a very distressing experience to say the least. Most of my on going issues are in my left side (which is also where I noticed the possible bite). My fingers and hand often tingle or go completely numb, my arm often tingles, my elbow hurts, my left leg has been tingling this morning with left knee pain. My back often hurts, sometimes my face feels numb and I'm getting more and more frequent migraine headaches, it's no longer the dull headache that I experienced in the beginning.
The thing that tends to bother me the most is that my bite site still itches and sometimes causes pain (forearm). I have reached out repeatedly to the local infectious disease Dr (the only one within 300 miles in my state) and they don't want to bother with me. I keep telling myself that failure rate is basically 0, especially here in the states, but these symptoms just make me nervous. I do want to say I have had two good days during the past week, but it always seems to come back stronger and harder to ignore. I wouldn't wish this on anyone, but know there is going to be a day this is all a distant memory. |
HELLO i havent been active on here as it was causing me to much anxiety to even type the word rabies into the Google search. These vaccines have ruined my life i truly believe. At this point I would rather be dead. almost 2 months after the vaccines in June I ended up opting for a lumber puncture
I had a very stiff neck my head hurt beyond words my white blood cell count was elevated I had a CT of my stomach it showed appendix and spleen were enlarged and inflamed. They thought somehow I contracted viral meningitis. Well somehow everything came back freaking normal. Over the last few months my vision is progressively getting worse and no one can explain why my neck still kills me headaches from hell Confused cant concentrate getting side tracked very easy. No love for life at all. I've had 3 mris of my head and on August 21st the found a 1.5 cm cyst on my pineal gland. Of course it was there after my first mri in June but doctors decided to not tell me! In 2015 I had a MRI and it wasnt there. Of course they are asymptomatic and all of this stuff that's going on with me is just in my "HEAD". Also these vacvines can and will cause autoimmune disorders!!!! If they are laying dormant in your body they will bring them out. I have crohns and they sent my crohns into over drive pretty much. Liver problems blood clots massive sores in my mouth all of this i never had before these stupid vaccines. I also still suffer with alot of random violent muscle twitches at times i feel like my muscles are wasting especially in my neck.... I wish everyone the best but if i could go back I wouldn't get the vaccines. |

One thing that keeps me hopeful is seeing how many people who where here contributing come back (or don't so I assume the reactions have worn off) and say that they've returned to mostly normal, which can be hard to remember when you're in the thick of the nasty side effects. I am newer to this, but really hope that you'll soon have better days. |
I also have developed some kind of heart issue. Im on metoprolol. My heart rate is always above 100 the cyst can cause POTS. I have no clue if the cyst is a side effect from the vaccine or not like I said it wasn't there in 2015.... i have no clue if im still leaking from the lumbar puncture i have no clue anymore my life is constant worry and regret. I truly hate my life... i feel drunk all the time light-headed dizzy confused can concentrate very forgetful severely fatigued my legs swell terribly... i dont feel there will be a back to normal for me.

I feel for all the people who have posted on this site. We have all experienced something we never thought would happen. As for me, I am now almost 1 year out from the actual event (10/20/19) and 1 year post last vaccine shot 11/20/19. Anxiety long gone, but ongoing side effects come and go. Good and Bad days. I feel so lucky when I read about others who have it much worse. I urge everyone who has had an adverse reaction to the rabies vaccine (in the United States) to report this to VAERS( Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System). If more people report their issues perhaps the Center for Disease Control will have more knowledge and data for all those that have suffered from this vaccine and the information will be documented, and hopefully more medical providers will have more knowledge on our situation. I believe the site is: vaers.hhs.gov. There is a form you can fill out but you may have to check several sites to find it. I completed this several months ago. If more people do this, maybe they will take notice.

Hello, we all almost have same side effects. I took first shot July 7, and I got vaccine probelems started next day, then becoming worse after 4th dose and then for a month I was good and I thought thats it I am good now but a month later my life ruind when every thing is back harder and much worse, the numbness back to my hand with pain in fingers joint at the same side and it is close to bite site witch make me confused, stiffness neck, back pain, my hands feel like hot spots or burning then spread to all my body,my face numbned, my throat sore and feel closing like something stuck in there, some short breathing, my body electrifying with 1 volt like some tingling all over, extremly fogy and dizzy I can not constrate, these symptoms com and go during the day, for about 25 days now my anxity is high, I went to my doctor who told me please forget about rabies, yet in the same time he wont agree it is vaccine causes, I feel you, my thoughts is waving in my head, some days are realy hard to get throgh tring to control my anxity, telling my self the dog was fine for long time and I took 4 dose, but when the symptoms kicking, my anxity go with it, I went to another Doctor yasturday he did blood work and ask for ANA test for autoimmune disorders. Keep posting and fight your thoughts, we will get through this. |
Sorry for bad Spelling.
I want to say also I have Myoclonus does not stop at all, swollen lymph nods under the chin and behind the head. |
Finally got concerned enough to schedule an appointment with infectious disease since I figured out a way to get in touch with them. Hope to update next week.
Be well. |

This may sound strange but since the first vaccine and the immunaglobine my ears have been full of fluid 5 plus months mind you.... i cant get it to go away i did singular nasal sprays I am now doing xyzal steriods I have had 3 ear infections nothing is making it better..... i am now with an ENT doctor who wants to do tubes and do a balloon in my sinuses and burn something in my nose idk. I read somewhere that the vaccines can cause severe congestion in the ears and will take along time to go away..... them vaccines are terrible and need fixed or something....

Infectious Disease Appointment
I went to Infectious Disease today and had a really good appointment. The doctor took the time to listen to me, pulled up my recent labs and said that although rare it sounds like a reaction to the vaccine!
It's something others have posted about before and certainly makes sense. The doctor did say that it is something I'll likely have to wait out and manage the symptoms. My kids went to the appointment as well and expressed how they have also felt pins and needles in their legs, so it was nice that the doctor also took time to listen to them. Also likely a reaction to the vaccine. As of today (95 days since starting the vaccine) I still deal with pins/numbness and needles from my feet to head on the left side. Headaches that tend to be on the left side or settle in the back of the head. Muscle spasms throughout my body, occasional lump in throat, arthritis like feelings in my joints, back pain, some dizziness, and more postnasal drip since the above post has stated similar. I am glad that I had a doctor listen to me and didn't immediately say "anxiety" like everyone else has. I feel more hopeful today than I have during this whole ordeal and I hope it helps bring some peace to future readers. Keep your head up, I feel that we will all get through this, it may take time, but it will happen! |

It is good to have at least a logic answer from a doctor, as you said most of them told me forget it do not think about the symptoms, but how when the symptoms is painful and scary. Wish you all soon recovery. |
I’ve been thinking a lot about this... I have been having near constant sore throats and sinus pressure. I thought maybe I got more allergies since moving last fall, but now you have me wondering if it is also from this vaccine.

Hello every body,
I had four good days, almost normal but some mouth issues feel like some acid and cause more saliva, I started doses of 30g astroides 10 days ago it could be causing it, today symptoms back again but still not like the hell week ago, and I experiance more blury vision, like my eyes need more time to fucos, I believe this symptoms well stay come and go for a while. How are you doing guys? |
The last few days have been rough, my left arm is making me anxious. I have pain from my fingertips to my under arm. In inner arm the pains shoot up and down and burn. It’s really upsetting. Other symptoms aren’t as pronounced, so that may be the silver lining.
I’m glad to hear you had a few good days, I hope there are more of those days with fewer bad ones in between! |
Hello,
How are you doing battyinthemountains. The couple two days I have alot of muscles spasms neck, legs and back, and jerking muscles, less numbness and hot flashes. |
Quote:
I hope your spasms get better soon, I know how concerning and annoying they can be. |
Tonight as I was falling asleep I had some weird vibration throughout my body and I woke up in the middle of the night with really bad neck/shoulder/arm pain and nausea. I am doing everything I can to try and stay positive, but it’s hard to do when my body feels so off. I wouldn’t wish this worry on anyone.

It is annoying I know but we have to give it time what I see its getting less and less, Even with those symptoms worring will not get you anywhere, try to be bussy I try to work more and ignore your thoughts try for couple days and you will feel relife. Stay strong keep posting. |
A couple of nights ago I found two evenly spaced marks on my foot and today I woke up with two evenly spaced bites on my face. I’m going to the doctor tomorrow morning to see what they think, but I may have to get the boosters. This really upsets me, but I have three kids to think about. I’ll keep you all updated.
|
I was told not to worry since I did not find a bat by my GP. I also spoke to local infectious disease and they said my titers should be high enough that I shouldn’t even worry if it was a bat, but since there isn’t a bat boosters will not even be considered.
That said still having back/shoulder/neck pain on left side, but my tingling has gone down significantly, muscle spasms come and go, but seem to be less than before. I’m 3 months out from finishing these shots and I’m again hopeful! |

I’m also doing quite well. I tested positive for COVID a couple of weeks ago, but feel the vaccine reaction really prepared me for it! I hope you continue to do well! |
4 months ago I completed the rabies vaccine. During that time I had many undesirable effects. Many mirrored rabies symptoms and honestly ruined nearly 3 months of my life, but as of now I have things mostly under control and wanted to share what helped me in hopes future readers can get over the reaction as I have in the past few weeks. I have upped my vitamins. I had been taking magnesium, D3, Omega3, and zinc as a precaution for COVID, so these where already in my routine, but found when I added liquid vitamin B and a nerve tonic tincture my pins and needles/spasms really got better, the migraines have been treated with an essential oil blend and ice packs, body aches with a menthol body rub. I try to not overdo anything and so far things have been immensely better.
I’m grateful I found this community and I hope everyone here continues to do well or finds some treatment that helps ease these reactions and future readers know there is hope. Take care. |
This is my first post here, hi!
I just received the 7th day vaccine of the PEP series last night as a precaution, as I was told it was safe, and have been feeling pins and needles, shooting pains, and a tightness in my left arm/left ring/pinky finger and my left foot, left side of my face since after my second dose. The foot & face seem to have improved a bit, but my arm hasn’t at all. Like my fingers aren’t coordinated or snappy as they should be :( The posts on here about improving give me hope, but I can’t help but be worried about those people who seem to have gotten worse & never came back. The thought of having given myself a permanent condition or something like MS or worse is terrifying and depressing. Anybody know what happened to ARose’s wife and Neuro_member?? |

Hello my friend, Sorry that you got COVID, I hope you feel better now, you know I started my new job two months ago, been so bussy helped me alot to ignore the symptoms, Now its all under control its come and go but mostly mild, no issue its geting better with time, I am glad to know you doing will, for all people who experiance this side effect, the vaccine is effictive but you might experiance bad side effects just give it time, do not worry it will pass it happened to us all. |

I hope that the final dose went well and these side effects don’t last long for you. Please keep us updated and take care of yourself. |

Eye symptoms anyone?
I did 2 of my shots already. Two more to go.
No major side effects, except for some occasional pins and needles and headache, nausea the first day. Hovewer I got a weird one today. My pupil is dilated and I got blurred eye vision. My husband got a dilated pupil too. He was fine before but as soon as he did his vaccine it got dilated within minutes. Weird. Had any of you had eye side effects too? |
Hi! Just checking in, I cut it short after the third dose, as the shot was unnecessary and more precautionary. This was now 2 weeks ago. I have pretty much no pain now. But the muscle tightness that felt like reduced sensation in part of my arm/fingers/toes is still present, now also in half my face and neck. Not totally numb, but almost like pressure. Odd sensations whenever I moved those muscles, especially in my face. Occasional twitches.
Anyone else deal with this? Waiting on a callback from a neuro, wish I’d never gotten these shots! Terrified. |
How are you feeling now?
