Default Veins popping out

I notice when my pain goes through the roof my veins in my feet and legs to the knees pop out , it always starts that way and intense pain until I take a painkiller.I still take a low dose 5 mg. 3 x day oxy condone. It doesn't work but a few hours now and I fear my neuropathy is getting worse or I am becoming addicted to pain medication. Either way I was wondering if any of you guys have or had this condition.
