Let me ask you this e. Does applying heat or cold affect the pain? I know once when I was hurt in a car wreck, my right foot. I know when my foot got cold the pain was much worse. Are there any topical creams you are aware of that might help or have you not explored that??

If I could find a doc that would prescribe THOUSANDS of mg of Lyrica per day instead of hundreds, I think I wouldn't need to try new meds. I tried the cymbalta and it actually INCREASED the pain. When I can get some funds to see another doc, I will ask about the ketamine infusion. Thank you for the info!

What was the effective date of your coverage? and when did you stop working [according to them...next comes the dates they enrolleld you and dis-enrolled you-important for your coverage] First call the medical plan to find out what they THINK your plan coverage dates are, then call your now former employer's personel coverage person [could be personnel or payroll] Ask them the same question but don't let them know what you know from the med. plan. Any discrepancies by the employer could set them up for trouble...trust me on this!

But, this is one part I KNOW about inside-out and can help you get coverage [tho at the WHOLE cost, not just employee part-that's the rules] you are entitled to. It might be worth the costs short term-to get what you need to keep yourself together!

I know trhat the benefits did NOT begin at my date of hire because of my job's delay in getting me a laptop computer with intranet access to apply for the benefits. insurance card came in the mail perhaps days before I was terminated. I had to call the doc to beg to be rescheduled earlier to get in just ONE office visit within the three day window I was allowed to use the insurance. I can not afford the cobra payments ($400/month!)

This is the link to Pfizer's patient drug assistance program. (They manufacture Lyrica.) I didn't read the website, but I had a friend who was able to get her drugs from one of the companies free through one of these programs. Also, her Neurologist was very good about keeping her in drug samples. It requires some work on your part in the application process, and also your doctor or his nurse, but perhaps this would be worth checking...

you had me worried. I was hoping that after you'd hung around a few days (praying that you would give yourself this time) you would find much support here. Just as I have. This is an incredible group of people here. Very caring, very helpful and they understand what each of is going through as far as the pain. Not just the physical pain but the emotional as well. I had reached the end of my rope late one night, or early one morning, depending on how you look at it. I couldn't sleep cause my feet were causing me such agony. I was up instead of asleep, crying, desperate for some answers and stumbled on this message board while doing some research. It's been a life saver for me. I'm blessed in that it appears my PN is or was caused by a Vit B-12 depletion. I've been on the B-vitamins for over 30 days now and my pain is almost gone. It's a miracle!! There's simply no other way to describe it.

I know you'll find things here and people too that can and will help you. For me it was just knowing that there was all this information and help here and that I wasn't alone with this anymore.

I kind of figured that.

I guess they COULD have given me this when I had Shingles.

That pain was terrible. I got NO Sleep for weeks.

Hi. I'm sorry for what your going through but thank you for checking in. You know I thought of you last night. I had a really bad day and was in the worst pain of my life I thought I was dying. Anyhow I felt almost like I couldn't go on but then I remembered what I told you and I have to hold onto hope. See your not alone and sometimes though I hate to see others struggle it does help to see people do make it through.I have bad insurance so I understand as I pay for all meds,doc visits,and have huge co pays. Have you looked into a loan or possibly family members for help? I'm sure you looked into that. I'm not sure your age and like I said my insurance is crap but at least I have it and covers most of the tests after the deductible. Its more affordable insurance since its private pay for people under 35. Anyhow keep checking in and hold to hope.

They make it tough to qualify for assistance with meds because they want tax returns for previous year. I earned $40,000 in 2006 before I was unable to work and was out of work in Nov-Dec, 2006. My dissability claim was denied and I went back to another job in March 2007 for $60,000 per year but was fired in April after 1 month so I do not qualify even though my income is zero now.

Hi, I just got of the phone with Pfizer (see, we really do help you on these boards). I spoke to a representative. I said that you have no income now and no drug coverage (you don't right?)

She said "he should be covered under the Connection to Care program. (They also have hardship acceptance programs). She stated further: "If he has zero income and no prescription coverage, tell him to call:

1-800-707-8990 and explain that he has zero income and no drug coverage.

This is a special phone number for lyrica. That's what the lady said.

So give it a try. Let us know what happens okay??
