I have only been on Neurotin for 1 week at 1800 mgs and have been on Neurotin for 2 weeks total. It just now got to the point of being really bad that is why he put me on 1800 from 900 mgs of Neurotin. I go to a specialist in April can you believe to wait 2 months for an appointment. Yes this is another day just a little uncomfortable nothing like I want scream an cry. My short term memory is fine I work on a computer in customer service and function well. I did notice I will go for something sometimes and forget what it is till I back track but that only happened a couple of times I forgot to tell you it's not 1800 mgs its 1500 I only take one at night. Thank you, |

It's not unusual to have to wait several weeks for an initial appt. with a specialist. The wait for subsequent appointments is usually (not always) considerably shorter.
I saw one specialist several years back and went through this process/ordeal. I had need to see him again within the past year, and was told I'd have to wait (around two months) because I was a "new" patient. I told whoever was booking the appt. that I was not a new patient, thinking I could get in sooner. She put me on hold, and when she came back, had looked up my records. Because it had been longer than 5 years since my last visit (it was 5 yrs., 1 month) I was considered a "new" patient (bureacracy rules) and had to go to the end of the line again. Gimme a break. Turned out to be a wombat anyway. ![]() Doc

I have had it bad with the tingling, burning, hurting, shooting shocks, numbness, feeling of have a glove or sock on my feet, the whole nine yards of symptoms Now I am taking Garbapentin third week and it has calmed it 80% to where I can function and not think about it constantly or be reminded with one symptom or another every second. Getting a reprieve from it is wonderful feel like my self. Like now feel some discomfort in my right foot and a little burning on the toes on the left foot. Today it has acted up the most since last week. A couple days had very little in the way of symptoms. I hope it keeps up this way until I GET TO A SPECIALIST AT LEAST. |

Hi! Epson salts relax your whole self helps with stress. I have the scented Epson salts, the whirlpool and it seems to help quite a bit. ![]() If I am having a bad episode it helps while I am getting my Epson/Whirlpool treatment when I stop the treatment back to miserable again then I go for motrin and a Xanax. In addition take GABA and vitamins the ones recommended on this site. I have had PN going on a month now to where it's is debilitating. How are you doing? Keep in touch!!!, ![]() Last edited by uglogirl; 03-04-2014 at 06:01 PM. Reason: too large |

Hi Staci
The temperature of the water does not bother me one way or another. I do tend to but ice in a bag at night at stick my feet in it one at a time. This seems to help with the burning. uglogirl |
