Default CAUTION: May Cauae ALEETNESS?

All of my meds have "Caution: May Cauae Drowseness" Is tbere anything to counteract this? I tried the. B12. B6. B100 Compound. Vitiman D and C. And I'm now trying D-Ribose. CoQ10. My meds include morphine percoaet Lyrica (or gadapentin, depending on results. I take one or other till i hit a spell feet burning ao bad i dont get out of bed a few days, then I switch.) When I am out of bed, I just don't have the.get up and go i used to have. Please don't say age (I'm a 58 "Young") Just wondering if there is a PN or lain med that says CAUTION: May Cause Alertness.

All those pain medication cause drowsiness...and you take several.

Some doctors will give either ProVigil for that side effect, or Ritalin. (depending on how severe the drowsiness is for working and driving). Since both medications are controlled substances those doctors who avoid controls, will not prescribe them.

Some of our MS posters have posted about using either one or the other here on the multiple sclerosis forum.

Hi Eddie,

I think they would more likely say something like, "May cause insomnia/agitation/jitteriness... etc."

Generally, I'm loath to suggest taking something (which may have its own list of adverse/side effects) just to counteract the adverse/side effects of a primary medication—it just seems like such a slippery slope.

Would it be possible/practical to cut down/eliminate any/some of the meds that are causing the problem? That would be my first/preferred choice.

Are you seeking something for frequent/regular or just occasional use?

My initial thoughts run to something like caffeine or caffeine alternatives though I would tread carefully and research thoroughly before getting too involved; some herbal remedies/solutions can be problematical in their own rights.
