I hate all the nit picking each state will want to do. The whole issue is crazy. Each state is going to make this very complicated. I just found out the other day, my own doctor is NOT opposed. Even the medical community is really looking at this issue and finding the MM helps. When will law makers keep their freaking hands out of a plant everyone should be able to grow even in a flower pot. The more rules to read, and follow, the more grey areas, the more problems, the more money wasted. It is the FDA behind the negative marketing. They do not want to lose the money from narcotics. This issue is just one I shake my head over, as I don't think in my lifetime this will resolve. Think of all those in jail for small amounts!. Can you imagine the mess there? We have created a nightmare, from a plant. Humans have not grown up enough to be reasonable about this issue. Politicians want to blubber and talk, talk and blubber, law makers keep writing new clauses. There isn't going to be an end ti it. Sorry to rant, it just makes me mad. ginnie

ginnie....you are preaching to the choir
the DEA's 100 year drug war has failed I think we are all fed up with the overreaching arms of the big letter government agencies....those arms should NOT be allowed in our medicine cabinets our constitutional rights are slowly but surely being taken away from all of us but our governmental agencies exist to "protect the public" I ask..."from what?".....so we continue to suffer even our physicians will only prescribe to their level of comfort for fear of retribution from government oversight and their own state medical boards whatever happened to the Hippocratic oath to "alleviate pain and suffering"....missing |

I am looking low THC because for a short experiment for a few reasons, not the least of which is sativas with higher THC are not the de facto leads I've found supply relief with my research. That being said I plan on plugging in a sativa or two mid week to see the differences and see how my system reacts to actual known numbers. Yes, the New York law with its restrictions in usage and site procurement lead me to believe I am borderline by stringent metrics. I'll be happy for those worse off. Even if approved you are treated with exceptional scrutiny. Sad. I will journal it and report as nonsensical ramblings are certain.

A few pointers for anyone coming to Colorado to try cannabis. First, you would need to locate a recreational dispensary. Some are designated as medical for which a state issued "Red Card" is required, others are designated as recreational and some are permitted to sell both. Each product for sale is pre-identified as either medical or recreational and there are strict guidelines the dispensaries must follow. Likewise, it is our responsibility as consumers to educate ourselves regarding the laws.
When Amendment 64 first passed, CBD strains here were reserved for children suffering from epilepsy and the supply did not meet the demand so NP and other pain sufferers could not obtain CBD products. That of course has changed and now there are a variety of CBD products available on both medical and recreational sides. The two main components in cannabis are THC and CBD. THC gets you high and CBD helps NP and inflammation. Many chronic pain sufferers try marijuana and say "it didn't help me" without knowing what they had. If you want give it a fair chance, high CBD is essential. Avoid edibles. Ingested cannabis is absorbed differently and takes longer for its effects to be realized. One might consume half of a cookie, feel normal 30 minutes later and decide to consume the other half only to experience the trip of a lifetime two hours later...not exactly what we are going for with PN. Be realistic. There is no cure but there is potential for relief. Similar to relief gained from Lyrica or Gabapentin, cannabis also has the ability to help some with chronic pain. Remember that cannabis is a potent substance and we are all different. If you decide to give it a try, be conservative and see how you respond to it. |

13 states instituted medical cannabis laws between 1999 and 2010 and in the study, those states had a 24.8% lower mean annual opioid overdose mortality rate compared with states without medical cannabis laws. |

I live in CA and have a medical license. Originally I'd hoped that cannabis would help me with the numbness and tingling of PN, which it does not. But it is a great sleep aid and that's pretty much what I use it for. I'll take a bite of a cookie or swallow a tablet an hour to an hour and a half before bedtime. If I've timed it right - this is new to me and I'm still fine tuning - I don't even feel the high, I just sleep well through the night. Good luck to all of you in states without this stuff. Pretty sure your time is coming! |
