Just curious if anyone has tried Nascobal? It is a nasal spray B12. My doctor wanted me to try it since I have absorption issues due to gastroparesis. I have tried the oral B12 on an empty stomach, but my numbers keep heading down, and now sits at 335...TOO LOW for someone with neuropathy.

He did a shot, and the Nascobal is a once a week spray of 500mcg. Personally, I think I should be taking more then just 500mcg, but I don't know if it's contraindicated to use more via this route. Any thoughts on this?

I don't use the Cynocobolamin. That is a cheaper version some doctors use.

I keep my levels up with the sublingual Methylcobalamin B12. It does a great job.

I understand and may try again, but my absorption issues play a role in taking oral and Sjogren's causes severe dry mouth and damage to the salivary glands and may be why I don't get the full benefit from sublingual.

They don't offer Methylcobalamin in the nasal spray.

Have considered injections but high dose blood thinners and intra-muscular shots can be problematic. I think the injections are also Cyano, not Methyl...but I'm not sure.

I looked up Nascobal absorption and
Found that it is pretty variable..
+/- 500pg per dose.

It might be better to stick with injections.
Hydroxocobalamin would be better than
Cyano. You can also get methyl injections
From a compounding pharmacy. Those are
Light sensitive and typically refrigerated.

If you try the Nascobal you should get
Tested in a few months to see if it really
Works for you.
