Just curious if anyone has tried Nascobal? It is a nasal spray B12. My doctor wanted me to try it since I have absorption issues due to gastroparesis. I have tried the oral B12 on an empty stomach, but my numbers keep heading down, and now sits at 335...TOO LOW for someone with neuropathy.
He did a shot, and the Nascobal is a once a week spray of 500mcg. Personally, I think I should be taking more then just 500mcg, but I don't know if it's contraindicated to use more via this route. Any thoughts on this? |

I don't use the Cynocobolamin. That is a cheaper version some doctors use.
I keep my levels up with the sublingual Methylcobalamin B12. It does a great job.

I understand and may try again, but my absorption issues play a role in taking oral and Sjogren's causes severe dry mouth and damage to the salivary glands and may be why I don't get the full benefit from sublingual.
They don't offer Methylcobalamin in the nasal spray. Have considered injections but high dose blood thinners and intra-muscular shots can be problematic. I think the injections are also Cyano, not Methyl...but I'm not sure. |

I looked up Nascobal absorption and
Found that it is pretty variable.. +/- 500pg per dose. You can look it up in more detail. It might be better to stick with injections. Hydroxocobalamin would be better than Cyano. You can also get methyl injections From a compounding pharmacy. Those are Light sensitive and typically refrigerated. If you try the Nascobal you should get Tested in a few months to see if it really Works for you.
