If it was not for the excellent advice of Mrs.D i would say test for Lyme but it also looks like it could be something autoimmune to me.

I often wander why my nerves got so damage after the initial intoxication took place.
I my case it was damage with a long time delay this may be also what is happening to you.
They never measured something autoimmune but i suspect the immune system overreacts somehow.
