The use of B6 for carpal tunnel has never been really proven.
So if you don't like the effects, then don't use it. The very few reports in the literature involved people taking enormous doses (500mg a day and up) for a long period of time having paresthesias etc. It is highly unlikely you are having toxicity because historically those two factors had to be present. An enteric coated form will pass thru the liver. Only it will be more slowly, absorbed. Everything that goes thru your GI tract goes first pass thru the liver. Sublingual does not. B6 is used you know to TREAT people with pyroluria... and those people have terrible anxiety and mood issues relieved by the high dose B6. Make sure your magnesium is NOT oxide form. You could alter your dose, take it every other day or every 3rd day, etc. Or not use it all. Since you seem highly reactive, I think avoiding it would be the best course for you.

Hi MrsD, thanks for the feedback.
That was not *my* experience, just an experience I read about. I have been taking 33mg capsules 1-2 times a day. I havent had any of those effects. But when I read about that guy's experience, it had me worried so I decided to post a question about it. My Mag is definitely not oxide. I take 400mg/day and it is chelated. Would you also recommend taking a balanced B vit supp like B50? I have read that b6 can inhibit the other forms of B. Thanks again! |

You could try the nice Jarrow product:
B-Right: It is less than a B-50, but more than a multivit. http://www.amazon.com/Jarrow-Formula...jarrow+b-right This mostly available online... iherb.com and vitacost etc and Amazon. Many people on our forums have used this with success over the years. It appears to be very gentle and not cause side effects like the '50s and 100's out there. Jarrow is an excellent company too. Beware of reading other people's problems on line...there are all sorts of different people with different lifestyles and genetic chemistry...no one is like the next so horror stories abound and may not pertain to you at all.
