Some antibiotics cause PN... Flagyl (metronidazole and Tindamax) and
fluoroquinolones. Cipro, Levaquin, and Avelox.

Antibiotics also upset the GI flora, so using a good probiotic and/or yogurt/kefir may help. Some people may need a Candida cleanse (NOW makes a good one). If you are eating sugar and lots of carbs, you have to stop this while doing a Candida cleanse as Candida grows on sugars.

If you are drinking alcohol, you have to stop. This along with Candida makes aldehydes as metabolic byproducts, which damage nerves.

I took amoxicillin for a few days because I had some left over and then after the root canal, the dentist gave me Clindamycin. I was actually on low carbs during that time and months before. Ever since, I went back to high carbs.

I took Florastor probiotic and some other product when I was on the antibiotic because it gave me diarrhea.

You need to continue with supporting your GI tract.

Clindamycin is especially hard on the beneficial organisms.

Taking some benfotiamine (or Thiamine daily) may help get rid of the aldehydes the Candida dumps into your system.
300mg a day of benfotiamine to start, or 300mg thiamine in divided doses for at least a month. You may see some improvement with that too.

If your infection is ongoing, it too can make you sick.

Once the symptoms started, I started researching and took all the recommended supplement and still do. The infection is long gone but Ill try the Candida Support.
