Thank you. I thought the coffee was because of the caffeine? I will try the hot water. Is an electric jug like a tea kettle? I see your from Australia? That must be neat. Ever come to the states? I used to hate traveling but now want to.

Mayo's GI doctor told me that any HOT drink would do it. I use tea and it's the first thing I consume in the morning. It stimulates the vagus nerve. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vagus_nerve The vagus nerve stimulates the peristalsis (as I understand it). Peristalsis is the movement of the bowel that the body does automatically. And then, make time to spend in the bathroom. Make it a regular habit. I find that if anything interrupts this "schedule", it will cause a problem. But I just make time for it as often as is possible. And sometimes later in the day if I've had to miss the morning window of opportunity, I can have an afternoon cup of hot tea and still stimulate things to work.

Since the periodontist told me that I have an infection in my jaw bone around the old dental implants that I have, and that all the Ibuprofen I was taking was weakening my jaw bone, I stopped taking the Ibuprofen, started taking Serrapeptase instead... it helps, but is not as total or quick as Ibuprofen.
And, I started taking 250mg of magnesium 4 to 8 times a day. (I've tapered off now to 3 or 4 times a day.) Several months later I am sleeping much better, seldom have any cramps, (except for a worrying cramping feeling in my chin...) and have less of a loose teeth problem. ![]()

but for you it may take some fine tuning? Trial and error is the rule here as each of us face the issue for a whole slew of reasons that no doc could ever determine or know [nor can we]....
I seem to recall on other neuropathy boards, and also on Cancer boards about a variety of 'recipies' that help... While I have been 'blocked' for extended periods of time [once, very big time with my PN onset - 3-1/2 weeks {no kidding!} and others due to surgeries...the anti-'b's and percocet there] well, I simply drank more water, ate soft stuff and refused to try to worry and strain about it! I will say that walking around in short careful spurts helped as well-guess it got things moving? Also helped my overall circulation-which probably helps as well. Some of the recipies consisted of prune paste and other flax seed or flax oil to help things along.... Do all the good things to take your mind off the bad...you can amaze yourself when you are distracted. ![]() |

Got your attention there didn't I?
![]() It didn't work at first when I got home from Mayo, but I've found that with time, and concious scheduling time, it works very regularly. Billye |

Unfortunately, there is no Costco anywhere near me. ![]() Calcium doesn't seem to like me. Every time I try to take any kind of calcium it gives me terrible constipation. Maybe I'll try one dose of the Slow-Mag a day on an empty stomach.
