Default Back from CC

Hi. Well I'm back. I tried to post from the hotel but wouldn't let. Anyhow I was in the program from m-f. They like all the rest made me worse. Basically this pc is about physical therapy and mental therapy. You learn which is important to not focus on the pain. So like in groups you can't talk about the symptom just feelings and goals. There was not treatments like tens, shots, acupuncture,so on like we were told. I did like the biofeedback though and fluidtherapy. Anyhow they pushed me way beyond the limits. I was up walking around all day that huge hospital and tried the pool. I fear things are damaged more and the pain is way worse then before. The head doc felt that I need to go to ansteseolgist(? spelling) anyhow I have to drive back to cc on Thurs for that. Then after there review I can decide about shots etc and a later pain program. He said my pn he thinks should be treated like rsd though not. I really am in so much pain and scared because I really think they have no idea and damaged me further. This is making my trust and fear worse. He said its important to treat this right which I'm trying so not for a longer time of damage. Like for some people with rsd who are not on there leg and it atrophes. He did say I need to find the balance of being on it even though the pain is so bad. We did increase the cymabalta but they do no meds like pain meds because many are addicted which was not me but after those long days I was in crying pain again. I'm trying to work on what I learned about pushing through the pain and different coping/relaxation and not talking so much about the pain. So I will update you on Thurs its just a review and I have no idea what they do there but suppose to be a top one at cleveland clinic. On a side not to add to this I got into a car accident my 2nd day. The guy ran into me and my car is damage big time but at least everyone is ok but really that was just the icing on the cake. Ok hugs to all. You all have been in my heart.

Welcome back hon.

Hope you are feeling a bit better. And I'm glad you did not get hurt in your car accident.

Here's a hug. (This site will not let me insert hugs, and I have no idea why). I'm sending you a mental one anyway.

Melody

Default Oh noo.

So sorry Daniella. I was hoping so hard that you would come back feeling better. So did they actually diagnose you with RSD? Or is this just a guess on their part?

Hugs to you Sweetheart,
Billye

Default Two good things are happening tho...

One- it seems as if something called a DIAGNOSIS seems to be closer in reach, and two- YOU SURVIVED IT ALL! You have been exposed to a whole boatload of 'tools' to help deal with aspects of the whole combined problem. Probably soo many more than any of us, except maybe Wings/David has experienced. I think I would flunk out after day two?
First off I'm sort of curious....what all did they do? Maybe writing it down and talking to us about the different things, there are those here who have gone thru the various 'routines' and have worked out our own plans based on what works [or not] for us.
As for Physical therapy, they are probably trying to cram as many different exercises into a super short time for you....Just be sure you get some sort of picture printouts on them so you can DO them at home after to start slow and then work your way up...OF COURSE doing the exercises to the MAX at first is very slow and hard going-but IF you can do it with discomfort after, just think what all you can achieve by taking smaller more consistent steps at home? Just be SURE that they give you a thera band set and maybe list a couple of 'exercise' tools you may need - I can find them for you cheap, either at the 'mart' stores or on-line...
In the meantime, you ARE going BACK! Hooray for more punishment? You want this, and you will ACHIEVE THIS in your own time, just be sure you are doing it all right.
I have to tell you about the 'over-achieving' on the exercise parts? If you go back and do the same numbers of exercises later, it really DOES get easier....
at least, that's been my 'experiences'.
Hang in there, we have faith that you will be able to get up and about as you want...We also know what a hard fight it all is - j

Cool Smirk Daniella.......

I had biofeedback sessions and techniques several years ago and still use it today. Practice, practice, until it becomes second nature! It helped me immensely.

Thank you. No I don't have rsd cause I don't have the other issues like change in color so on but he said treated similar to what I have. I do have perphieral neuropathy in that left inner ankle but maybe also an undiagnosed though had all tests even the head doc said. I think at this time and feel they thought the same that this clinic was too much for the pain I'm in. I went from barely walking to walking in a huge hospital non stop cause every class was so far etc. I feel part of the anasteseolgist apt is to give me something so I could return there. I'm not planning that but want to hear what they have to offer for some relief so maybe I can do a slower program here. I just fear major damage has been done from so much activity and still some missing pieces. I feel guessed at. I do know that yes pt can make things feel worse in the short run but benefit in the long but my pain seems to get worse the days after so am not sure if its from too much and then nothing cause of the backslide so maybe something slower. I will find out more after thurs consult and when they talk back to the head doc at the pain clinic. Thanks again.
