Thyroid nodules, per se, have no symptoms....most are caught on incidental scans. A lot of folks have them an had or have no idea they are there....and that is fine....I only know I have them because they did a CT scan of my neck for enlarged lymph nodes, back when they were on the Sjogren's trail. Since then they ruled out Sjogren's for me...and I found out I have a few benign thyroid nodules. Most nodules do nothing...however, they need to determine if they are active or benign. If they are benign, they usually just leave them alone. Apparently they could tell mine were benign from the CT scan. If there is an issue with them, they treat them accordingly.
