June time for a new thread!

My weight went up so fast drinking again.
bloated and uncomfortable. I had a black out the other night. Could not sleep last night until 4 am......This is crazy!
June starts tomorrow. I put the rest in the bin in the bottom of the refridgerator, I should just throw it out....jeesh!

I really think when I saw the scale go to 139.5 It really excited me. If that makes any sense...(maybe I used it as a reward???)
I don't know. anyway
I will have a dry June.

when I look at the numbers it is more and more clear to me that I can't be a moderate drinker. I can't have just 2 unfortunately.
I am a problem drinker, I binge...5 or more in one setting.
That is me.
But drinking won't define me.

I will become a runner.

Bizi, I that that I might understand.

In your words, it took me a long time to understand that "I can't be a moderate drinker".

I think that your insight that "drinking won't define me" is a really positive thing.

For me sobriety is the only choice (I don't know about you).

Any time that you would like to have a chat by PM about this is good with me.

With care and concern.

I had to stop drinking alcoholic beverages years ago. It would have caused my liver to stop working. I drank for ten years very heavily.

I read the Bible, and slowly stopped. I was really addicted mentally, and physically to bear, alcohol in bottles, and especially the 151 rum in a bottle. I drank to feel less anxiety, and it worked at first. It does something differently to you after you have been drinking for a while.

Anyway...I don't touch the stuff anymore. It's been over 20 years. I'm on medication, and I still read my bible. BF:hug::hug::hug:

tonight we had a late dinner, I worked late so dinner at 720pm when we normally eat at 6. then we took a walk around the neighborhood, about 2 miles. I am still sore from wednesdays run on the tred mill!
I wear a fit bit and todays totals are:
7615 steps
3.17 miles
1782 calories burned total
for dinner I had baked chicken with bacon and cream cheese
( rarely do I eat bacon!) and steamed brussel sprouts with strawberries and blueberries for desert oh and 2 dark chocolate hersheys kisses.

I slept like crap last night eyes still awake at 5am. alarm goes off at 8. UGH!
I take klonipin 1 mg to sleep at night. had been taking 2 a few times while drinking because I could not sleep. wonder if that has screwed up my wiring or I just need to be patient. and ride it out.
onto my 3rd cup of coffee...
ready to start my day, work with the elderly, do in home pedicures.

The liver can be a real issue. My cousin went to rehab; doctor warned him his liver was not good. He was a very happy drinker; and in denial. At age 46, he passed away. Good for you BF. I know it is very difficult.

I had smoked for over 25 years. I never thought I would be able to kick the habit, but after several attempts at quitting; I finally have been cigarette free for several years. I realize I cannot even smoke one cigarette or I'll be right back smoking even more.

Hi Bizi
you seem to be going along well you just have to ride it out, when you think about it we all have sleepless nights I find if I take a sleeper at night I am fine but then your body get used to them so only now and again I will take one when I am stressed really bad, anyway bizi stick to your guns and hold in there and chin up every day is a new beginning.

bizi 06-03-2015 08:52 AM

I was Alcohol free for 121 days ,then drank for 8 excessively black out etc. (first red flag)now 3rd day AF will attempt to be refrain until july 11th when we go on vacation.I slept much better last night! yeah. My leg is not as sore as it was yesterday so maybe it is taking a turn. It has been a week since my injury...I know not long enough to recover. I ran 5 miles in one hour not listening to my body.
I did a stretch that a friend suggested and will do it again twice a day...I hope that is what she said will ask her again, maybe she meant to stretch it after running????
I will see her at lunch, think I will text her this morning.
I really really need to take a shower but am not up to it.
I went to a meet up the other night to meet other runners to see if I would fit in. they were all drinking and someone bought me a cider. This is unusual for me. As I am afraid to meet new people. Red flag alert!

I ran a red light yesterday, luckily did not hit any one. and then almost backed into a driver/car I looked right but not left. another red flag.
I told jeff that I might be hypo jeff said what hospital do you want to go to???? jokingly.
I need to be more mindful. Last night at 9;30 I had gone to whole foods looking for organic strawberries and blueberries they were on sale but they were out, rats. Ended up buying a bunch of filler flowers and arranged them into 5-6 vases around the house. a bit excessive these look nice when dried so no water in the vases. 10 pm doing flower arrangements. another red flag....
anyway will keep an eye on myself and slow down.

Yeah... I used to do that when hypo. :o

Do be careful.

Mari 06-03-2015 10:11 AM

Bizi, :hug::hug::hug:

I am worried, esp with regard to driving.

Do you have some meds that will knock this down a few notches?

Is there anything else that you can do that has worked in the past?

M

Dmom3005 06-03-2015 12:20 PM

Bizi

If you can do very little driving for a couple days. It might be good.
I'm wondering if it can also be part of the drinking and stopping.

I finally slept well last night. Had not been.
Things seemed pretty normal for me. just paying attention, being as low key as I can.
Had a nice lunch with friends at a pizza place that I had never been to before.
I already take 160mg of geodon a day. so I can't take any more of that.
But I do have zyprexa to take if I need it and plenty of klonipin if I need it.
thanks for your words of support.
I feel normal today.
bizi

waves 06-03-2015 07:14 PM

I am glad you had a good sleep Bizi. That always helps.

I don't remember...
Have you taken Zyprexa before, or would you be trying it for the first time?

bizi 06-03-2015 07:40 PM

hi waves, I have taken it before but it was a long time ago. meds are long expired.
I should probably just throw them in the trash.
bizi
oh yeah, dated 2006, and I only took 4 back then. they are 15mg and I don't remember how they effected me.

waves 06-03-2015 08:46 PM

Bizi,

They might be ok but they might not. The potency can degrade, and this can even happen unevenly across pills. So then it's impossible to gauge strength based on the effect of one dose, because the next pill you take might have a lot more or a lot less 'drug' in it. Yours are probably in a pharmacy container, too, right? That's not good as far as preserving potency as they are not airtight.

Most of my drugs are blistered (keep better) and I'd toss those if they were 9 years expired. :o Sorry, but I have to advise you to toss them and talk to your pdoc if you start to feel like you need a back up plan/med.

I hope that just getting more sleep again will bring you back to even keel. :)

bizi 06-03-2015 09:54 PM

Thanks waves I will trash them...literally!
My right leg/thigh injury is weird. I walked on the tred mill and it did not hurt at all for 45 minutes at 3.5 mph.
but cross my leg and it hurts.
pulled out my anatomy book.
it is part of the quads. the vastus lateralis...I think.
So walking does not use that particular muscle????
It hurts when I get up and down from the floor but am favoring my left leg so it doesn't bother me that much. Same thing when I get out of my car I put all of my weight on my left leg.

Got up at 630 this am due to achyness. About 6 hours of sleep.
So sitting here drinking a cup of coffee. Thinking about all of the things that I could do this am before I have to leave for work at 10.
I have gotten behind like usual on y paperwork and billing and charting. So think I will make that a priority this weekend/tomorrow.
snacked alot yesterday.
Hubby just started the washer so there goes one thing that I was going to do this morning.
oh well.
Time to go read the paper and onward toward my second cup of coffee.

I think my leg is better this morning. I walked on the tred mill last night about 3 miles, felt fine.
bizi

waves 06-06-2015 12:01 PM

How are you doing now, Bizi?

Is the acheyness any better?

my right leg is still sore when I use it for other than just flat walking.
It is sore when I go up stairs and get down on the floor to wash my clients feet then get back up again I try to use my left leg as the dominant one to take the brunt of weight.
Getting up early due to achyness just means my shoulder is sore from sleeping on it straight thru the night, I am a right sided sleeper.
getting ready for a full afternoon of clients going out of town later this afternoon using gps to get there have never been.
Thanks for asking waves.
take care.

Hi, Bizi,

I sleep on the same side too (for me it is 99.9% of the time.)

Hubby is out with a buddy and the cleaning lady is here.
It is quieter without him and we did not have to help him make his lunch/clean up after him.
I need her to find my overnight bag and organize some other things for the upcoming trip.

Good luck with the GPS. I use this app on my phone: WAZE.
I love it.

I also do a screen shot of Google Maps and print it.
I grew up reading maps.

I remember helping my father drive from New York through a big Southern city at sunrise
when every else in the car was sleeping.
We had come upon the city and he wanted me to check that he was making the right turns.
I was 6 years old and still in first grade.

I love maps.
(no GPS in the car -- just the app on my phone.)
WAZE is a cool app because it also has social network aspect to it.

Jeff does his own laundry because he did not like the way that I did mine. and neither one of us is that much into cleaning so who ever gets sick of the dust bunnies...does something about it. we have our own bathrooms to clean
the kitchen I kind of keep up....don't look at the floor!
