Help I am so depressed

Friends, I had another WC hearing today and I just stood in the lobby and cried. We had to ask for a continuance due to the fact that the employer suddenly "found" an IME and submitted it this morning before my attorney had time to react to it. I am so depressed I just don't know what to do. Nobody seems to understand that I am at the end of my rope and just can't take anymore. Two weeks ago I had the worst pain flare of my life and am still recovering from that. I just really want to give up this fight and don't want to live like this or be this person anymore. I know this just sounds like a poor me moment, and I do really try to keep a positive attitude, but I just can't do it right now. Thanks for listening, Lisa

Lisa,

Stay Strong. I am going through my own personal hell right know also with Workers Comp. I just keep telling myself that I am strong, nothing can hold me down and workers comp can play their games as much as they like, but I will Win in the End. WC is the dirtiest, no hearted, uncaringest (not a word) organization in the world.

They spend more money and time denying things, just to have it Approved later. Yes, they don't care. They sit behind a desk and make our health choices for us. They would make a man or women who lost an arm and was holding it in the doctors office wait 30 days till they approved to have him treated.

They are heartless cowards.

You are better then them. Stronger. We are all standing beside you through this. When you start to feel down, just close your eyes, and imagine what we look like. And we are standing right next to you. We are your Army. Gather your strength, try to smile, and in your mind, call them every name under the sun. Then smile.

Much Love from me to you Lisa.......

Hi Lisa,
Does that mean they found an earlier IME report of a exam of you done by an IME dr?
Or that they found an IME dr and want you to go be examined by one?

If it is an earlier IME report that was "found" - your atty should have requested or gotten a copy of it as soon a the IME report was filed.

you can request a copy sent to you also - if I recall correctly -at the time of IME appt.

Generally they are filled with "mistakes" & untruths and those need to be addressed by your team. Pointing out those things that are incorrect & having your drs to back you & atty up , will make a stronger case for you.

IME report will carry less weight if it is proved to be full of holes.

Jo Mar, They finally found a report from an IME done in March. My attorney was never able to get a copy and the opposition claim that they just "got" the report so they filed it the day of the hearing. After I was able to read it I was just absolutely stunned at what it contained. I did not know the RSD spontaneously resolved according to this doctor, and that any injury that occurred 8 years ago should be completely healed. Also that there is no cause for depression. Unbelievable. He also states that there is no reason for any treatment and that a SCS would be totally worthless. I can't believe that the people that do these reports can be called doctors and really wonder if they can be sued for malpractice. Lisa

I am not a WC case and from what I read I could not be happier to NOT be aqauinted with these ankle biting chickens.... I feel your pain tho in that you are so sad and discouraged..You are in the right place with us cuz we care about you and understand those feelings... we have all felt the useless, whats my purpose feelings and where do we go from here..???? Take the time you need to feel the devestation from what RSD places upon us..it's okay, honest..And when you are ready..pull yourself up and feel loved cuz we are knocking on your door wanting to share our concern and love with you... When you get back up..put those gloves on and go back at em..Not only are they ripping around with undeserving RSD patient they are playing dirty games..and that must not continue.. Show them that we don't fall easy..we only gain strength thru those who care about us and how dare they mess with you!!!

I have to thank you for coming to us for help cuz I am angry and had to answer your post..which has ultimately pulled me from a 'funk' I have been in lately..Right now, due to this post..I feel ready to take on the world for those who show us dis-respect... Just send em my way..I will set them straight and be happy to do it for you! Tell em I will have my cup of RSD for them to sip from and lets see how they fare!!!

Bless you, my friend..know you are in our hearts and prayers..

Lisa,
You are ALLOWED to have many "poor me" moments when you have RSD because that is the only way you will survive the mess. I deal with WC too and I believe they try to run you so far down that you just want to roll over and die and stop the mess BUT give yourself a time out in a quiet dark place for about a half hour and cry it out and then slowly get yourself back to the game. This works wonders for me and has kept me sane for many years. I've been in court 3 years fighting to get my treatments and I will not let them slink away from their responsibilities. The second time the other attorney showed up for court and while I was waiting in the lobby due to overcrowding he told the judge he was not prepared to question me??? I nearly flipped out when my attorney told me I said "What does he think he is here for??? drinks and lunch??" I was fuming. They just do that when they want to wait time for whatever reason. I just take my peace in thinking may they be blessed (or their loved ones) one day and then have to go through what we do to survive each day...it's called kismet I believe:.) Hang in there and take it one day at a time. Best of luck.

I am so, so sorry for your pain. I am also WC, The Hartford has driven me insane more times than I can count with their antics. It's hard to believe that people can be so cruel, but it is but it is. Try not to let it bother you because it can really make your RSD worse.

I would recommend that you ensure that you have absolutely the very best lawyer in town on your side.

In addition, on the RSDSA website, there are copies of previous newsletters. Just recently, in the past year or two, there was an article written by another RSDer who talked about how to have a doctor's license revoked for writing an IME that clearly fraudulant. If you have the energy, get a copy of your IME from your lawyer and go after the guy with your state's medical licensing board, for no other reason than it will make you feel like you are accomplishing something.

Please hang in there. I truly hope that things get better for you very soon.

XOXOX Sandy
