Hi Everyone,
That physio therapy appointment I had on Wednesday has really messed me up. I am still experiencing a huge amount of pain (more then I ever did before)... also all my other symptoms seem to being going crazy. I also have none stop tingling itching in my arm and the migraines are out of this world. Thursday, when I go see my doctor can't come fast enough. I really think the physio therapy has really done something to me. Just now from trying to type to you all my hand is turning purple and cold. ![]() Is this normal for everything to be this bad after something like this? Or should this "flare up" calmed down by now? Or is this how things are going to stay from now on? sorry just beside myself now...I was limited before how much I could do but now there is even more I can't do. I'm a physical and emotional mess. Thanks for letting me vent a little. And thank you everyone that has responded to my recent posts...just haven't been up to responding... but does help to read them! some great idea's for washing hair! take care, Karen |

![]() I am so sorry that you are going through this. I have never met your physical therapist but I am very angry with her. She should be ashamed of herself and the pain she caused you. You go there for help... Thursday will come. Understand the need to vent when going through something like this. I too am in physical and emotional distress and I have to wait until April 1st to see the doc who might be able to admit me to the hospital to figure out what is going on with me and why I am in so much pain. It cannot come fast enough. I hate it when we have to wait for these appointments when we are suffering...but that's how the process works (and I know that doesn't comfort you any more than it comforts me). You are in my thoughts and I hope that your doc is able to help you on Thursday and refer you to someone who knows what they are doing. Please let us know if you are up to it. |

Dear Karen
I am so sorry that you are going through all of this! Can you call your primary care doctor for help? Are you on anything like Xanax to calm you down? That really helps when i am in the middle of a pain crisis because it does attack you so much mentally. Have you called the therapy place back to tell them how bad off you are...maybe they can undo whatever they did to you? lastly when we are in a lot of pain we dont breathe right. This is real important because deep breathing releases good chemicals in our brains to help stabilize us. 3 deep slow breaths may help bring some temporary relief. hugs and peace Lori Quote:

phys therapy does nothing but make me feel worse. i don't need to stretch or bend or anything else. i need relief. stop the therapy and concentrate on getting relief through pain meds.

So sorry to hear that things are so bad right now, Karen.
![]() In my experience, I am always a LOT worse after Physio. It can sometimes take days for me to get back to my usual level of pain. My Physio's are now starting to notice that I often feel worse after a physio session and are advicing me to only do as much as I feel able and to pace myself. With RSD, it's important that you don't do too much and don't do too little. You have to find the correct balance. At the moment, that is really hard for me to do and I often become worse because of it. I'm going through a rough time now (pain flare) so have been told by my Dr and Physio's to only do as much as I feel I can. I think you should talk to your physio's and tell them how you are feeling. If they don't listen then something needs doing and a new physio may be needed! Take care and know you aren't alone. If you ever want to talk i'm here. Alison xx
