Hi, what a funny coincidence!

I've been meaning to ask - what's an American biscuit?? - been to the US a few times and never tried one, but they pop up in films all the time. A UK biscuit = cookie.

Mark, there's nothing really similar to a scone. But try to imagine a very light soda bread - can be sweet or savoury...google images will get you a pic.
