irked
I was in the ER last night with a Gb attack....
The doctor did the basic checkup including grabbing my foot and lifting my leg to check for pain. The first thing I told him was about the rsd in my right foot and ankle.. he said he was familiar with rsd. Needless to say he started to grab my bad foot and I panicked.. immediately teared up and begged him to not touch it. He basically ignored me and tried again and that time my husband raised his voice and blocked him saying "you heard my wife... don't touch her there!" My hubby is a police officer and was in uniform having left work to meet me there.
the doc relented but I was already crying at that point. The thought of him just grabbing it made me panic because I dread the electrical zaps I get when its touched.
Later after I calmed and the doc came back I calmly expressed to him that when a patient tells him they have rsd or crps that he needs to listen and be aware as he could make things worse both physically and emotionally for the patient.
Anyone else get frustrated when having to educate doctors or when doctors don't seem to buy your condition. It wasn't till I put my feet side by side and showed him the size..Color .. and turned in nature of my foot that he really got it.
