Confused Block today..... New pain?how do tell my family?

Went in with RSD in right arm/shoulder for stellate gangleion block. What is going on? I can't believe the relief for 4 hours! It was heavenly. Till the anesthesia wore off and now my neck is on fire plus my arm! How do I tell my family? I just want to die. tired so so tired living this way.

my advice is the same way you said it here. do not let this stir in you , the fear, the loneliness, the frustration of needing to over explain , the fear of their response. This is your life and you need to be forthcoming with those you wish to share this life with. Its not always easy to admit the pain but that doesn't make you weak . It makes you able to admit your limits, and that is something unto itself. If you know your limits you can work with that and try to find ways to better your life in those guide lines..( this is sound advice) and again like most medicine uneasy to swallow. I have my issues with all of it myself, but I recognized this to be good advice when it was given to me.
Its not easy, but I'm sure that anything worth doing isn't easy. And remember your family here when it gets tough. Good luck and many soft hugs. I KNOW THE SPREAD ISNT EASY TO ACCEPT~!!!!

You are 100% right.. Thank you for your honesty and for telling me like it is. I have an amazing support system who loves me but I guess I wanted to be their miracle who could be pain free again. Little stupid when I read story after story of heros here. Part me knows that the pain has changed my liFe.. Just honestly can't come to terms with how much it has changed the lives of those who love me too. Can't give up hope, just little down... God bless for you being you.
Ps so I guess I go back for another block..... Ouch

Before you go for another block share the spreading info with your dr,s .. I didn't and mine were inches compared to what you explain. and I made that mistake.. each one I spread more. and as far as saying as it is... I only said what you already knew. you were just looking for support and I gave it. . as far as as your life never being the same.. I agree but I goes we are built to adapt. My biggest fear growing up is I would loose my limbs. kinda prophetic. though I am grateful for not loosing them totally. thank god for little things.. .. be well and always know you have a family here as well

I think it is awesome you got 4 hours relief. If your dr. will do a shot every week for 3 weeks you may see that this gets a whole lot longer. Maybe months.

Hold on and call your dr. I'm actually excited for you. Give it a try and I will pray for you.

Just don't get discouraged. They did mine 3 weeks apart for a year. (breaks of 4 months) before he said "lets do something different" Lets go 1 week apart and see what happens. I am 8 x better. Although I started having issues 4 months later. I got 4 months of 50% of reduction in pain without spread.

The length of time you have relief is supposed to get longer over time as you have more blocks. Assuming they work in the first place... Give it some time for your arm to settle down and if it doesn't, call your doctor. There's likely nothing they can do anyhow, but good to give them a heads up.
