OMG that was like a shot in the arm! Thanks so much everyone who has posted while I kind of slept I am grinning like a fool now

Keep it going....this is better than the POXY pain meds

Just now my youngest was making herself some soft cheese on ryvita in the kitchen, and I heard a wail and 'oh SOPHIE'. Turned out her cat had jumped up on the counter, and she had picked her up. The cat had leant forward and licked the cheese lol. Cue child stamping to the bin in fury.
I settle back down....then a crash and 'SOPHIE YOU NAUGHTY CAT. Waaaah...' I went out and was told her cat had jumped up again and snatched round two off the board. Darn cat just sat there licking her paws doing the smug cat thing. Daughter virtually sobbing in frustration and fury. Lol, bless. I put the cat out and advised her to do the same next time! Good job we had plenty of ryvita and cheese left

Bram.

Ok, here's mine for today....

Why do my children want to kill me?! Mine has just left her sleeping bag (yep you heard right) at the bottom of the stairs in a dimly lit hall (she carefully switched it off on her way upstairs ). I didn't even know she had brought it downstairs!! It nearly got me, but luckily it is a slightly shiny fabric and I caught a glimpse of it in time. Little minx!

Oh, and the other day I tripped over her schoolbag and stepped into the dog's food bowl (stainless steel, luckily empty) and skidded for about a foot before the piano stool stopped me. Gave my knee a nasty tweak, but it must have been classic Tom n Jerry stuff visually lol

I'm sure it's a conspiracy.......

Hope you are all doing ok today

Bram.

My stupid thought is......

How did I know EXACTLY where this story was going as soon as you mentioned cats and washing ?

Maybe they look at us because they KNOW we have dirty minds ?

Bram....my kids love leaving obstacles in my way too ! Even my 2 recent falls haven't gotten them to try to pay a little attention.....geez.

We may need a new thread on "Why are our kids trying to do us in"

Default Canine Comedy

I’ve had these two Japanese Chin’s (Yin and Yang) for I guess about 8 years now. They are little (under 10 lbs) and can get into small places and love to do this when sleeping; they do that a lot.

So my daughter moved back home recently and brought a beautiful German Shepard Husky mix (Alpha) with her. He weighs somewhere around 50-60 lbs. He’s still a bit of a pup at about a year old. He’s so darn cute and just a big lug. Anyway, he L-O-V-E’s to play with the Chin’s. And when they get into their small spaces, oh no, he won’t be left out of the pack, and doesn’t even realize that he’s a LARGE dog. Never mind the end table you’re about to knock over, or other furniture that might be in your way. It is comedy in motion just to watch him, and the Chin’s are like, okay.. wow Alpha, you’re HUGE and crowding us, and scaring us with all that you are doing to get into OUR small space. I swear he cracks me up! He has no idea how BIG he is!

Maybe ever so slightly irony-laden, this one.....

Why is it that on a day when you can't get warm, the cold burn is driving you mad, and pain is getting you down - when you most look forward to a warm and comforting lunchtime hug and chat from your normally excellent husband - does he choose TODAY to come in like a miserable sod, hardly looking at you, doesn't notice the unhappy vibe or the pink eyes, hardly says a word, and then bug**rs back off to work without a touch between you? WHY?!!

Great bit of timing!! Thanks darling!

I have to laugh or I'll cry

Hope you guys are all having a decent day. I wish you warmth and happiness

Bram.

Oh, Bram. Bad luck! You'll just have to make sure he makes up for it tonight.

(though I know this virtual hug is not quite the same)

Bram sweetheart, I have had this very thing happen to me too; it hurts (like everything else). I hate to sound like I'm running to their defense, but I think some days other folks just get wrapped in their own daily grind and sometimes it seems to happen when we need just a little attention and any kind of comfort from the ones we love the most. I keep trying to tell myself, they have no idea, nor will they ever, and thank God for that, but in the same breath it’s a very lonely feeling at times.

Hang in there love, and perhaps tomorrow will be a better day all the way around. It sounds like you have a great marriage, and perhaps have been together quite a while. I think every couple, no matter how great things are has a day when all the stars are not aligning and we fail to connect. Hang in there, it will pass.

I am struggling like crazy with symptoms. I can’t keep up with my life!! This frustrates me to no end. Even the most mundane of things are tough if not impossible right now. I try not to get mad and just say “oh well, I won’t be cooking dinner… again”. But I would be lying if I didn’t say that I fight the urge to panic over how fast I am deteriorating over the past month. I think I’m in a controlled state of panic.

Thanks Vrae and Kim

All is ok (mostly lol) now, and what you say is so true. The thing is, I KNOW he doesn't mean to hurt my feelings, but somehow it manages to feel like that. I suppose whn everything is hurting, your feelings are raw too, and it's just harder to control and rationalize your thoughts

As for the controlled state of panic.....Vrae, I hear you on that one sister!! This last month has been quite scary after two relatively benign months. I'd kind of forgotten what it could be like? Daft i know, but I thought the gains I'd made we're from my hard work with the physio etc and that I could keep them by sheer force of will. Turns out it was just the frickin WEATHER !!!! Hope you have a better day today x

Right, back to the stupidity

My dog and my two cats have each tried to kill me this morning, SAS style. One cat hunkered down on the top step of the stairs, by the big newel list, and I almost trod on him. The dog then snuck up behind me while I was making my breakfast (I swear she can tiptoe - from the sofa I can see part of the stairs, and sometimes I see her literally tiptoeing up them, so funny...) and deliberately dropped her ball in my path as I turned to the table. I might have cursed just a teensy bit at that point. Then finally the second cat (they'd had a crisis meeting at this point to discuss the failing mission) just jumped out at me from behind the sofa as I sat down, in a full frontal assault clearly designed to give me what old ladies used to call 'a turn' at the very least, if not a coronary. Little blighters. After I'd fed them as well!!

Thanks for the smiles you chaps are ace.

Bram.
