Hi Katie, I think you are really onto something with the fact that with CRPS we have so little control over the disease, so we try to find things that we CAN control.

I've been finding myself doing this recently. Not typical OCD behavior (yet), but for instance take some basic tasks like yard work or vehicle repair or just everyday things....before I had CRPS I didn't pay much attention to these run of the mill things, but now I obsess about getting these things done perfectly!

I do truly believe that with this behavior, I am "compensating" for not having the control I would like over my CRPS. I guess it's not unusual that something like CRPS would have different types of effects on our mental health. I think it's important to recognize them and finding professionals who can help us with these behaviors can be of great benefit.

Always an adventure, isn't it.....
