Help Request for good vibes for my son's broken foot

Hello everyone,

My son broke his foot slipping on the stairs at a friend's last night and fractured a metatarsal. It isn't a terrible break and isn't displaced (yay!) but I am just paranoid about feet now and since he has half my genes... He's in a walking boot, no crutches, per the urgent care doc. He'll see ortho as soon as we can get him in.
Getting around in high school sounds ugh...

I started him on Vit C 500mg today.

Prayers and healing vibes are much appreciated. I know the chance of him ending up with CRPS is extremely slim (I didn't and won't mention it) but we'll take all the extra fire power against it we can get!

I hope he will be fine. I would tell you to try not to worry, but since that isn't likely to happen, I will imagine and pray for this to pass quickly and soon become a faint memory.

Good vibes, thoughts and prayers headed your way. The one good thing, I'm sure you already know, is kids bounce back quick. It always amazes me how they can get back on their feet in such little time. Good luck (to your both)!

Thanks everyone. You know how Moms worry.

The foot and ankle orthopod has an appointment Wednesday morning. Yay! We can be sure about the time in that boot for his type of fracture. His foot looked pretty good this morning. But boy, I just didn't care for sending him off to school all day.

He knows to elevate as much as possible to keep swelling down and has a note to do so in class. I guess one good thing coming out of being an "expert" on foot injuries is he's doing everything I tell him with no questions asked.

Kids are just amazing at getting over stuff and also dealing with it

Story: In high school my son worked after school in a grocery store standing on his feet in the produce dept......he came home one night and said "mom, look at my ankle"......what the heck ! My kid had hurt his ankle playing basketball in FIRST period that day. When he took his boot off at 9 pm that night his ankle poofed right out ! And off to the ER we went.

My thoughts are with you and your son and hoping he heals quickly.

So glad he's listening to you ! That's priceless in my book

I hope he recovers soon and without complication. My 17 y/o injured his foot this July. Also started him on Vit. C. Long story short, no lasting complications~foot is good as new. Hope the story is the same for your son.~mac
