Default Sunshine/Vit D reminder

I was walking my dog several times a day for short distances a few years back when I started experiencing spread to my lower legs--in large part due to wearing the wrong shoes. As, a result, I stopped leaving the house very often.

My energy level had continued to decline, until I recently started taking a D supplement. It seems to be making a difference.

So, you might want to consider either trying to get out into the sun for 10 minutes a day, or taking some D.

I found a cool app called D-Minder. It gauges the vitamin D exposure based on location & time. You tap 'start exposure' and it calculates how much vit D your body is getting until you select 'stop'. Has warnings when you've been exposed to too much sun and how much 'sun time' left in the day.

Vitamin D is a mood and energy booster. Our son's pain dr. had him start taking it from the first visit. Especially if CRPS is keeping you from getting out in the sun, I agree it's an important vitamin to add.

hi lit love. thanks for posting about vit d. i have been taking vit d for over a year now after my dr found out through bloodwork that my level was about a 9 when it should be around i think 30 to 50. he said i had the lowest level he ever saw. lack of vit d can cause bones to start deteriorating and pain when trying to walk or exercise. since i don't go out much in the sun anymore because it causes my rsd to flare up, i have been taking vit d supplements. i am still not at the level i should be but am getting there. i think last my dr checked i was at level 19. anyway, thanks for posting. its good to know it is a mood booster too since i am battling with depression as well as pain.

Please make sure you are taking D3 with K2. There are sublingual versions.

It must be common. I had a score of 8 on my blood panel last year. My doc gave me 50,000 units 2 per week.

My doc ordered the same for me. My level was 13 in Feb. After doing some research, I discovered D3 is absorbed better than the D2 (prescription) and after talking with my endocrinologist, I am now taking 10,000 D3 daily. I go to the doc on the 15th so we'll see if there's an improvement.

K2 is vitamin that should be taken with D3. These vitamin work together. I wish someone had informed me when my d level was 16 and I was given a prescription for synthetic d with no k.

It sounds like you were prescribed D2. You might want to consider taking an over the counter D3 supplement.
