Yeah.....I have heart flutters OFTEN now. I hate taking all these meds. Every one of them causes more problems than it fixes.

Yes!!! You count now!!! You're an official RSD'er poster!!! Wait until you graduate to Junior Member!!! Seems like I got there quickly and have been there forever. My guess is that I'll make member when I get to 100 posts. I have a big mouth so that shouldn't take long!!!

The hearing issue you have when feeling faint is due to your blood pressure being low. It's just an effect that happens along with it. It shouldn't happen normally and if it does, then you'd need to find out why it is. I've only ever had it happen to me when my already low blood pressure plunges down and I feel faint like you do.

Hugs,

Karen

Heart

I'm sorry that you are having these side-effects and really hope you start feeling better soon!!

I was on Lyrica and I also had a similar problem to you. Every time I stood up, I would feel as though I was going to collapse and fall over and I also had some pretty severe shortness of breathe and chest pains.

I spoke to my Doctor about it straight away as I really didn't feel well and he checked my blood-pressure and said it was REALLY high and took me off it straight away!! Thankfully, once I weaned down from the Lyrica, the side-effects went away but I still feel pretty dizzy at times now ... my Doct believes that RSD affects blood pressure and that is why I am feeling so bad at times still.

I hope you feel better soon and I would definitely speak to your doctor about it and see what he/she says.

Please keep us updated when you feel up to it!

I tried Lyrica for about 10 days, and ended up going off of it. It made me nuts!! When I got mad, I got REALLY mad, and I have 2 teenagers so that just didn't work. Now I am on Neurontin. I've gained some weight, probably about 5 pounds. It makes me hungry, so I find that I am eating more. I plan to ask my PM doc about Topamax when I see him next week.

Hope you having a better day than yesterday.

Sandy

Actually, I am having a better day. I'm not as dizzy, I actually SLEPT last night (I doubled my meds for sleep.....took 4 hours for them to kick in but I finally fell asleep......and STAYED asleep). My sweet boys are gone for the weekend, so I can relax a bit. I am not taking the Lyrica today. I will try to talk to him about it Monday (if he'll talk to me). I was worried about the Neurontin because of the weight gain. I'm tiny, so even 5 pounds would look like twenty on me. Thank you for your responses!!! I'm trying to hang in there.

Hi MominPainRSD,

It's me Loretta. I've talked to me Dr. about low blood pressure and then itt goes up high.RSD is an autotomic disorder. If you look that up in Mayo Clinic .com it explaines it controls the involuntary functions of our body. Like sweating, opposite, being cold. burning pain, cold pain, fast heart rate slow heart rate. The sympathetic nervous system sends it up and the parasysmpathetic nervous system sends it down. It's always a balancing act. It's my understanding the ups and downs is a results of deffective sympathetic nervous system. Common to RSD patients. That's why I passed out, mine was 60/40 one morning when I woke up. Any my Dr. said not to bend over with head down for extended periods of time. get light headed. Was in hospital 4 days-$30,000 bill.
I don't want to loose my drivers license so check it before driving and don't drive within 4 hours of meds.

Hope you are all are getting rest and managing your health. Hugs, Loretta
