DO NOT use epsom salts as an enema.
You can poison yourself this way. For soaking it is a great symptom reducer. Those who have dramatic improvements with epsom salts, need to consider improving the diet to contain more magnesium, or to take supplements. Many people are low in this mineral. http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread1138.html For supplement doses aim for 1/2 the RDA which is about 200mg of elemental. The above post has alot information I have gathered over the years to help. There are other things that help block the NMDA receptors for pain. zinc melatonin (recently discovered) magnesium

with magnesium is very low. I have seen statistics in the 10-15 incidents/year range. Mostly these are infants or elderly, and often
involve enemas. There is a considerable segment of the population who do colonics and enemas. And if they misuse epsom salts, then there may be a terrible accident. Anyway... because of the colonic people, I wanted to clarify that. One need not worry about oral magnesium unless you are severely kidney impaired or on dialysis. In that event you need a doctor's supervision.

I order my magnesium supplement online as it is the more absorbed kind. Mrs D helped me with this and getting the proper kind. Also when I saw a holistic doc he suggested it as well.
On the bath note when I was in MI and the cold I was taking a couple a day now in warmer climate I don't but did find baths helpful. |

I love my Epsom salts so much I buy them in the Lavendar. I think it is called Dr. Teal's. Just the aroma therapy itselfs helps me.
I also found thins great item to help me sleep...In my Biofreeze, I had a package of "Calm". Lemon flavor. I thought it was a tea bag. When I cooked the water and went to add it, the package were white powdery that efferessed. I tried it and dang, I slept for 5 hours straight relaxed. I searched it out on the I-net and found that it is Magnisium sufate with Lemon flavor. That the one tsp is added to 6 oz of water, you can have up to 3 tsp a day, but watch for the irratable bowel that will follow ![]() I never suspected it. But if I did not have the sample called Calm first I never would have thought to even try it. I am sold. I have a huge bottle about 32 oz, that shipped was half filled ![]() It kind of acts like alka seltzer for a moment, then is soothing lemony hot drink, I don't use it every night, but if I fail to fall asleep in an hour I will make a cup. di But it was under $10.

I'm not sure it helps but I do use it once in a while and find it very relaxing at least.
