Methadone is the only opiate that affects QT of heart.
So you should have a EKG before starting it, and avoid drugs that are additive for this effect. Dehydration and low potassium and magnesium increase this risk. This website has complete lists of drugs, and explanations: http://www.azcert.org/medical-pros/d...drug-lists.cfm Otherwise methadone is a viable opiate alternative. Just use it safely.
