I just got off the phone with the Pharmacist. The lady told me that the other Walgreens received the script about 15 minutes ago...I ask for the envelope that the script was mailed in to be given to my husband. I want to know what date that envelope was mailed..so does my atty.

My atty. is attempting to contact WC atty. to explain the negligence in which the PM doc's office handles my OpanaER scripts: unacceptable!
This is 2 months in a row with this one script. As it is now, the pharmacist said that I will go through withdrawals and have harsher pain ...not looking forward to that at all.

I am going home this Saturday. Wanda is doing better and I need to be with my hubby. Ron thinks his ankle is badly sprang. 3 weeks is long enough to be away from my family..they need me too, and I need them.

This OpanaER situation has to be resolved, once and for all.

Default That's just wrong!

Hi Dew. I am so sorry that you are having to go through this again! I thought when we spoke about it the first time, there would be NO way that it would happen again. You are right! It is unacceptable! Hang in there.
I am glad you sister is doing better. Have a safe trip home and lets catch up when you get settled back in.

My atty. is going to file a complaint with the WC court concerning the out and out negligence of my not getting my OpanaER script in a timely manner. My hubby picked up the OpanaER, and the envelope was dated 07/22/09. The receptionist told me that she mailed it 07/20/09. Atty. said that the judge will not like this at all I don't like it at all, myself.

I have proof this time, showing how the receptionist lied about mailing the script. Also, at the most it would take 2 days to get mail from OKC to Lawton,OK. The script that was mailed/postmarked last Wednesday,07/22/09 was delivered today,07/27/09! Someone is holding up the darn mail.

I told my atty. I want a new PM doc that is closer to my home, Lawton, or Wichita Falls, TX. I have had 3 bad experiences, within the last 3 months, with this PM doc's office and I do not trust the lot of them.

As it stands now, I am starting to feel increased pain and some withdrawals from the OpanaER. My last dose was Sunday morning,07/26/09. I will not have any until Saturday,08/01/09, after 2:30 PM, when I will arrive in Lawton..lovely, the plane ride will really be a joy.

Thanks for listening to me, my friends,

Dew

Linda - I'm so, so sorry. I remember when this happened before to you. WHY does WC determine where you have to go for your PM doc? TRY to chill... The admin asst at my PCP office did that to me for the first time a week and a half ago - over a weekend - when I had been flaring for 2-3 weeks. I called on Thurs and Fri, more than once, etc...

When I got to the office on Mon I had a letter that I had written that went to all the docs in the office explaining exactly what happened. I made sure all the facts were well documented. And I also requested a switch in my PCP from my local office to one that is located in Providence, RI, the nearest city to where I live. Its not much further away, but its going to be more of a hassle for me because of increased traffic, difficult parking, and a whole new staff of doctors and NP that I have to get to know. But I will NEVER go through that again. My old PCP admin asst really dropped the ball and no one else bothered to helped. My husband and I have been patients there for over 15 years.

The weekend without my meds was really bad, because I was already sick. I still had methadone, but no percocet. But the methadone really didn't work on the pain much by itself, not sure why. I tried to chill, not move around too much because it made my head hurt worse, and toggled Advil and Tylenol on alternating schedules (I remembered you could do that with kids when they were younger). If I wasn't already flaring so badly maybe that would have worked a little -maybe it's worth a try for you?

I really wish there was a better solution for you and the rest of us when this stuff happens. It just seems like there should be a way that we shouldn't have to suffer so badly because we run out of meds and there's no way for us to get refills and its not our fault, but some dumb *****'s that has no clue what horrible nerve pain feels like.

This might be farfetched, but I wonder if is there some way that Wanda's doctor could help you, by talking with your doctor and getting you a five day supply? Might be worth asking about...

Wishing you the best, I'll keep you in my prayers, Sandy

I appreciate your suggestions;however, OpanaER is a Substance II narcotic and must be prescribed by my treating pm doc. Being I am in another state, my case is intertwined with WC ins., the best avenue for me to take is to get home, and deal with the mess, headon. Hubby sent my dl and a few Opanaer to get me through until I arrive home this Saturday. I will be ok...the emotional stress has ignited a major flare, but I know that it will only be until tomorrow when I can get back on my daily OpanaER meds.

I have to jump through all these hoops to be able to have OpanaER every 30 days,( not a day before)..however, the pm doc's office can mail a script, without a tracking number?? Sounds nuts to me.. There will be accountability this time..no more "stuff happens!"

Hoping each of you is having a low pain day
love,
Dew

Sending thoughts. I am glad you get to go home on Sat and hope your flare up settles down of course too. I hate how everything impacts are pain. I hope that this time with the med issue it gets resolved so it is one less issue to worry about. Sending thoughts and I hope the rest of the time with your sis is good.

Dew, what a trip it's been? I'm happy for you and your sister and that you two were able to take care of each other. WC is a miserable insurance racket and seem to place many Americans in awkward situations, difficult to deal with on purpose. Have a safe and painless trip!

OMG Dew. This yo-yo'ing between being on meds and off of them the Opana being what it is... it's outrageous to make someone go through that. I don't know what to say. This is horrible! To think you have to go without your pain meds for the rest of the week, I mean... OMG! This kind of treatment is *inhumane*, plain and simple. And to think it's going to be even worse when you travel.

I hope you can get this sorted out asap when you get back.

07/29/09

Wanda and Bill just got back from the follow-up doctor's appointment, and my sister is CANCER-FREE!!!

31 lymph nodes were checked, the lining of the stomach, etc., are all cancer free. Wanda had a very angry pancreas, and the suedo-cyst tumor grew to 40% of her pancreas, effecting the spleen and the left adrenal gland. The surgery was necessary as the tumor would have continued to grow and would have caused even more damage. Early detection saved Wanda's Life

This is a huge relief for Wanda and the entire family, and her friends. Wanda is to take it easy, and plans to return to work on 08/17/09.

I will be heading back to Oklahoma, this Saturday.

Thank you for following Wanda's blog, and being such a wonderful support mechanism. Wanda is a very fortunate woman to have each of you in her life, as we are, to have Wanda, in our life.

Love,
Dew

INCREDIBLE NEWS!!!

(The odds of pulling that off with with a Dx of pancreatic cancer, real in the end or not, must be on the order of 10,000:1.)

I am so happy for you and your family!

much love,
Mike
