Well..... at least Hubby did his duty

We hubbys can feel squeamish about some things, even during a delivery of one of our shildren, the staff produced a stool for me because they though ao many years ago I was going to pass out. Ha, Ha, Ha,....... takes a strong person to be a woman, and Saffy, you have an abundance of strength to even jest at the circumstance.

Prayers for you and hubby,
Mark56:hug::hug::hug:z

ginnie 04-06-2012 02:03 PM

Hi Saffy

I am sending hugs to you right now. Since I have had the same as you are experiencing, I have to give you that lift. I am glad you got a laugh even as you had to go through the ultra sound. I also had some odd pap tests come back, so I had the complete hysterectomy, at the same time I was replaired. It will be OK. Once this thing is over with, you will feel so much better. Not having normal bodily function is awful, and I hope you can get all of this over with quickly. There was some pain after the process, but honesly it was OK and I recovered really well. Let me know when you are scheduled in and I will keep you in my prayers that day for sure. ginnie

Rrae 04-06-2012 07:37 PM

Dearest Karen....

You will be a whole new woman once all this is past you. You certainly won't regret it.
Getting my hyster was one of the best things I could have done for myself. I dare not give you the gory details of 'why' I had to have an emergency hysterectomy..... you probably get the idea. :icon_confused:

Things weren't quite as simple after the ultrasounds.

They found a polyp on my cervix and unfortunately a cyst on my ovary with dark patches that means it is "menacing" ... Hopefully. Or too menacing but they will be doing a biopsy on that.

Once he gets the all clear from my stim surgeon I am having a hysterectomy, and the ovaries takes out by lapascopy and then the TWO prolapses. .. Trust me to not just get the one, sorted. My cervix has prolapsed and indeed the bowel is pushing into the vagina wall.

I did have one laugh yesterday though. The man doing the ultra sound was waiting for a chaperone and I asked ..l won't my husband do? Haha .. So he who is so squeamish had to co,e in with me, whilst I lay there legs akimbo. His face. Haha .. Don't think I've ever seen anyone go as gray as to match his hair.

Hopefully the doctor can get all done in one operation. All coming from the same area. As I said, I had a complete hysterectomy, everything removed, laproscopy, some years ago. Amazing what they can do. Now if you can get all the rest at the same time. That would be good. Since in my case, the other two were not a problem at the time, I had cystocle surgery, then rectocele years later.

Too funny about your husband !!!! You sure have a good sense of humor.

Saffy 04-10-2012 07:10 AM

Just to let you know. I phoned the Hospital today to tell them that the incision in my side is read and there is a line towards my stim .. and noticed blisters at the bottom of my back on the incision site.

They've got me a bed reserved ... eee I tell you .. they will know me so well there soon!

No doubt they will remove all hardware this time ..

ginnie 04-10-2012 08:01 AM

hello saffy

I hope at the hospital they get to the problem. So sorry you have to have another visit, but what you described didn't sound right. I will be thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers. ginnie

Saffy 04-10-2012 08:56 AM

Thank you ... My surgeon did say that if the infection (cellulitis) came back he would have to take all my hardware out as it would just keep coming back.

This means .. Hysterectomy etc can go ahead and maybe another stim later in the year.

Dear Dear Saffy:

My prayers and thoughts are with you. My goodness....maybe a stim is not for you. You have been thru so much. These infections are awful on your body.

Better to have hysterectomy without stim anyway. The doctor that did my trial would not even do a trial since we knew I would be needing Rectocele surgery after having had my Cystocele. He wanted to wait until surgeries were out of the way and future surgery would not interfer should I do a permanent implant. As hard as this may be.....might just be for the better.

Prayin....

Good they are doing the hysterectomy first. Will be easier for the implant and leads to stay in place afterwards.

Thoughts & prayers are with you....

All done. Have to say, the pain when I first woke up was worse than am before but am good. NOt had the guts to look where Felix was yet as I will cry, but at least I know I can get another in six months time and that surgeons can sort my lady problems out. So all in all this wear should make me a new woman. HEh, I wonder if the gynae surgeon can make me a virgin again

Saffy,

Now that's a thought !!!

Much better to have other surgeries with Felex not there. These "women" matters are best done without additional problems in the way making the surgery more difficult.

Thanks for keeping us informed.

Prayin,

(Ger)

ginnie 04-13-2012 09:50 AM

Hi Saffy

I had to smile a little at your post. No, they can't make you a virgin again, but the neithor regions will be alot different that is for sure. In my case even my urthera was moved back into position. You will feel so much better with this taken care of! sorry you have the complication of hardware for pain. It is all hard to take in. I get surgery on May 2nd. Reconstruction and re-building of my very bad left ankle. I can't seem to stay out of the operation theater either. Have a good day saffy, ginnie

Dear, dear Karen,
Be extra careful about suicidal ideation, as I have been there before, and you know it. Such is a VERY DARK place in DEFINITE need of care. Get the care, in addition to the other stuff. It will save your life, your sanity, and you may then focus on blessings [sound familiar?] as a means to realize THE LIFE WORTH LIVING WHILE YOU BLESS OTHERS AS YOU DO HERE!!!!

Praying for you dear dear Karen!
Mark56:hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:

P.S. Besides, I really need you and Sophie to ultimately plan a trip out here to teh west US to camp. We can have a mini convention of THOSE WHO CARE, maybe for real get Rae, Pooh, Fiona, Kelly, Jackiey, Ginnie, Eva, Nanc, SandyKay, Gerry, Sinead, Jenna, well...... Everybody together to enjoy some grub, some gabbing, some fun!!!

ginnie 04-21-2012 12:15 PM

Hi saffy

I know about those deep places that hurt. Please know that we care about you. Your life has meaning and value. Please get help for your mental state. I have to do the same thing, I face some tough mountains too in the near future. I try hard to pray and stay focused. If I need help, I go for it. Please come back here anytime to talk. NT and all of us are here for you. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I care about you. ginnie:hug:

Rrae 04-21-2012 03:12 PM

Karen,
You've got an incredible inner-strength that rises up when things get too overwhelming. I hope you see yourself the way we do.
Reaching out for help is one of the strongest things to do when you are feeling 'weak' by yourself. That's how we all pull together here. Don't let go of who you are.

You're going thru a tremendous journey right now, so just take things one at a time. It can trigger overwhelming feelings when we look at the broad spectrum. Once this surgery is over, you'll need to allow yourself plenty of downtime to recoup and hopefully you'll have plenty of meds to counteract the pain. Hopefully the Lord will lead you to a new SCS, if not then something that will surely work for you.

One thing at a time.....

 Rae

Mark56 04-21-2012 07:36 PM

Dadgum it all....

Well Karen, forgive me please for writing a message entitled Linking and then proceed to write nary a WORD about linking........

Anyway, our family has a business which is visible, very visible on the internet, and we are open to 50 nations around the world, even your own, so if you were to want to sell cards of your artistic flair and have the thought of presenting them online, we might be able through linking the companies' sites together to boost your exposure. That is what I meant about linking.

So as I take a bow for my ineptitude, please, everyone join in a rousing DUH, Mark!!! : o)

Prayin for you all of the way,
Mark56:hug:z

ginnie 04-23-2012 09:48 AM

Hi Rrea

Had to respond and say thank you. I read the post and tried to tag it then deleted it by mistake. I sure didn't want you to think that I didn't hear your message, I surely did. went to the deleted stuff and couldn't find the post. so I thought I would just do a thank you back this way, and let you know I appreciate all your help. We are indeed children of God. I am off my butt his morning and moving in a better direction. Trying hard to get the help I need to move forward. Have PCP appt. and looking on the internet for help. The angels are right here with us. ginnie

Rrae 04-23-2012 09:13 PM

Ginnie this is wonderful! Now you are sounding like the good ol' YOU again.
I feel in my heart that prayer for your situation is already being answered!
You are so special to us....

Once you recover from this surgery, you will be able to concentrate on a possible Felix II.

We're all praying for you,

(Gerry)

Saffy 04-26-2012 02:35 AM

Sooooo ... I did ask before the op, "could I keep Felix please, as I've been so attached to him... Har har".

It was a big NO as Medtronic like everything back in case someone copies their design. That's answered the person who was in a flap about wanting to keep hers and not understanding why they wouldn't let her.

District Nurse due today. They put me on these anti biotics called CHLORAMPHENICOL .. I came out In a glorious rash. Phoned my local doctor who was aghast I tell thee, that I was taking these. Said they had to be dosed very carefully and were usually the ingredient in eye cream.

Read on google that they can cause death .. Nice surprise there .. So not taking them.

Stitches seem to be bursting again in my tummy but I blame my daughters gorgeous lemon drizzle cake ... Mm mmmm .. Will ask Nurse about them today.

Trying to do something productive today and make some cards from photo s I have taken of locally views to sell at my mu 's next table top sale.

It's all go .. Well, sort of, I am lay in bed as i type.

Saffy 04-26-2012 02:37 AM

Am driving Tootle into Sheffield tomorrow as I left my I pod at the Hospital. Thank goodnedd they found it

Hi Saffy

I just wanted you to know I care about you. I know that you have been through alot. I come to NT the same way you do to express my fears and situation. I have not forgotten you in my prayers as you try to heal from all that has happened to you. You did great, for using the PC in Bed. This is one time a lap top comes in handy. Please keep posting of your progress, it does me good, to know another soul is getting better. In a lot of ways, it spurs me on to do the write thing for my own mediacal situation. You are an inspiration to me. Get well, I am sending a gentle hug to you. ginnie:hug:

Saffy 04-26-2012 11:56 AM
