LOL, Kitty. I hear you about the phone thing. DD19 knows the approximate time I take my nap. She always seems to call me at that time. I finally wised up and call her right before I go down for my nap. LOL

Fin - Hoping you are OK and feeling better.

Barb - I sent an e-mail to my instructor about my Faulkner ideas. We have a term paper to do and I am thinking it may be better suited for my term paper as there will be a lot of research. She was trying to get everyone's rough drafts back for another assignment and was busy with that last night. She said she'll get back to me on it. I got a B+ on the rough draft she sent back yesterday and now have to make the corrections and/or suggestions that she made plus do the other essay. Oh, what have I gotten myself in to?

Debbie - Glad the patches at least took some of the pain away. Sometimes just taking the edge off helps.

Sox - 10 pounds ended up over here. It was very thoughtful of you to send them but I don't need them. I'll gladly send them back.

Vonn - Hope you are able to meet up with our Sarah. Let us know when you get the website done. I'd love to see it.

Sandy - That would have been a cool Halloween night.

Wiz - Congrats on the "orders" for the business. That's awesome. I still use the Yellow Pages. How did your testing go yesterday?

Hi everyone else!

Today, I will be working on my homework and trying to decipher what the instructor is really suggesting. This is an online class and she sends the paper back with edits/comments that are color coded. I did send her an e-mail last night as she made a "change" and then asked me to explain the metaphor that she made up. The good news is, she did e-mail me back and explained what she meant. Phew! I feel a little bit better about it but I have a lot more that I need to do in order to support my thesis. Guess I have some explaining to do. LOL

Have a great day everyone!

for everyone!

Morning all Sitting here enjoying my cup of coffee and wondering where in the world I get ideas for creative outlets from. I'm a strange duck, that's for sure.

Yesterday I was offline for a better reason than the pain I was in. The dam burst on a creative block I've had for over 10 years, and I'm coming up for air.

I tried to write a few books in high school, but never finished them. The story lines were good, but had trouble with getting everything to come together. Shelved them when I got married, even though I still have all my scribblings filed away.

I definitely fit the sterotype associated with good poets and the pain they're in Middle of last month I had this new idea for a story brewing in the back of my mind. To help pace myself this week, I wrote a little down at a time. Yesterday I was sucked into finishing the first draft.

I'm waiting for my in house editor (aka hubby) to look through it. Then I'll shelve it for a few weeks before I go through it again. Even if it never gets published, I feel so much better that I managed to finish my first story ever.

Ok, I'm rambling. Hope everyone stays safe today!

Barb,

Enjoy your slow day today and your long weekend!

Debbie,

Has the prednisone started to work yet?

Kelly,

Enjoy the sunshine today! It's pretty chilly here, I had to turn on the heat for the first time this morning.

Vonn,

Enjoy your road trip!

Sandy,

Are your fishies doing ok in this cold? I hope you and Jim are staying warm.

Sox, Fin, Trish, Sarah, TKTC, Weave, Everybody ... have a nice day!

My update:

I feel a little better today. I got up at 8:20 and started sorting through my paperwork and projects on my desk.

The test wasn't really a test, just asking specific questions about my budgeting experience. In eight out of ten questions I have a lot of experience and have some in the other two, so hopefully that will give me a chance.

I chatted with the test lady at HR and she was very nice. I said that I guessed there were many people applying for that job, considering the economy and she said there were less than ten. But most people with this much experience are probably going to drive out of town and get a job in business that pays more. All I want is reasonable pay and good benefits and hours and I'm happy as a clam.

One thing I lack is a CPA certificate. Hopefully there won't be many of those applying.

She said that I would need to be one of the top three testers to get an interview. Wish me luck!

By the way, I called the neuro's office to ask for Lexapro (which he said I could try later if I wanted to.) He's out of town until a week from today, but one of the nurses spoke to him on the phone and called it in for me.

I just took my first one and I hope it will help get me out of the dumps. My legs are still feeling heavy and yesterday my arms were a bit numb but I can deal with that if I can get some of my energy back.

Anyway, I have lots of work staring at me here so I better get moving.

Have a nice day everyone...

Trish,

Color coding, oh my gosh, those are hard for me to decipher. I bet you'll get A's though.

Fin,

Will you autograph first editions for us when you're rich and famous? I used to write now and then but haven't done so in awhile.

We have a color key that we can use. I talked to one of my classmates on the phone last night and I am lucky. She had colors all over her paper. She said about 60% of it was colored. Only my 1st page had colors and at the end of the essay she made lots of suggestions on things I could expand on. Red or highlighted means, make the correction, you know better. I had a few of those. Blue means she is making a suggestion or getting you to think about it in another way. I don't know about the other colors as mine was mostly blue.

I took Lexapro for about a week. The one thing I noticed was that it wired my brain up too much. I don't know what ADD feels like but I think I got a glimpse for that 1 week. I also couldn't sleep yet I was so tired. It may be what you need to help with the fatigue that you experience. We're all so different and what works for one may not work for another. I do hope it helps you.

Wishing you luck with the job prospect.

well, I made it home. I had to change into dry clothes. Even with an umbrella and rain coat, my pants were soaked. I am now doing laundry, and plan on reading a hopefully good book.

Jenn, Glad you are ok. I imagine our rain is heading your way. I often think about trying to write a mystery, but have never really attmepted it. Maybe when I retire...

Morning all! I posted a new thread in the brain injury forum about mom. I am getting pretty concerned about mom and didn't know where to turn. I hope I get some good advice because my sister and I are at our wits end. So far one person has responded and the advice was good.

Barb, we have some rain, just sprinkles right now.

Kitty, Deb, the fish are doing well and still feeding but I can see they are slowing down a bit. Kelly, in the winter the go to the bottom and hybernate, We have two caves set up that they go in for the winter. This is my first year so we'll see how they do. I fear for the babies that haven't grown much but everyone tells me they will be fine. I have a heater that keeps part of the pond open so the gases can get out when it freezes.

Wiz, I hope you get a call back.

Trish, lol, I have to laugh because if Jim edits anything we write it is full of red! LOL We learned early on to not ask him to edit anything. haha

Jenn, that is great that you write! Maybe someday you will get published!

Ok, well have a good day everyone. I am off to get some work done around here.

Well, I got a burst of energy and cleaned both bathrooms (yes, I cleaned the BOYS bathroom ), have one of several loads of laundry in the washer and vacuumed my bedroom. I also emptied the dishwasher, wiped the counters down and cleaned the stove top. I'm done for the day!

I need a glass of ice water and the couch right now. Maybe I'll get a good nap in this afternoon. IF I remember to turn the ringer off on the phone!

*tkrik quickly e-mailing Jim essay* NOT! LOL Actually most of mine is blue. Blue is good - just suggestions, comments, ideas, etc. Pale Blue, purple, green and pink are not so good. RED is BAD! LOL

I'll have to check out your thread about your mom. I know you all are in such a tough position on that one. Hang in there and know that I am praying for you all.
