Welcome to the group, Supermoo! Hope you're feeling better today.

I've got a big pot of Steak and Potato Soup simmering on the stove and it smells SO good. I've never made this particular recipe before but it was fairly easy and smells like it's going to be a success! You can find the recipe on Rachel Ray's website (just type in Steak and Potato Soup) and it will find it for you.

I've got several windows open throughout the house. It's not quite 60 degrees outside but it's bright and sunny and feels so good. DS has gone to play soccer with a group of his friends. Other DS has gone to Oktoberfest in Helen, GA. It's fun but I just can't handle all the walking (hiking, really) and crowds. I've been before and it's alot of fun. Lots of beer and brats (not the kids.....the sausages!!).

I see you got a new "title" Wiz.....congratulations!

Good to hear from you, Sarah. I'm glad you're able to get out and spend time with the little ones. How's the job search going for DH? They're making cuts all over the place in the county jobs (fire and law enforcement included) and DS is worried. He's been there six years but he also makes more than some due to his versatility. I've never understood cutting public safety jobs but I'm not the one in charge and making decisions. We'll just have to hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

I'm watching Urban Cowboy for the umpteenth time on CMT this afternoon. I don't know why but I just love that movie. I think it's the music. I can practically recite the lines as they say them!

Gotta go stir my soup. Ya'll come on over for supper!

Hey, everybody!! DH and I went browsing at Menard's and Home Depot. Only bought bird seed and a flourescent bulb. We looked at kitchen cabinets again...but I don't think we'll ever agree on what to do. I did find a nice color to paint my study...we also need to get paint for our bedroom. Lots of winter projects in mind.

DS and GF are coming over to watch the Bears game. We're going to have some brats and taffy apple salad and cole slaw. I also made a chili-cheese dip and dip and veggies to munch on during the game. We didn't eat lunch today, so we can splurge a bit...

Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday evening!

Well, I'm assuming the Steak and Potato soup was good......DS and three of his buddies came in after playing soccer and there is probably enough for one large bowl left over. They ate the soup and polished off one entire loaf of whole wheat bread! I told them it would probably be better if it simmered a while longer but they didn't seem to think it needed to. I'm not complaining. I love it when they eat!

Hi everyone! Had a good time in Indianapolis visiting with friends and had some great Indian food last night. Shopped a little but I pretty much hate shopping in stores anymore. I just went and sat in my car and waited for my friends a few times. I did make it through all of Whole Foods. It figures that my favorite stores are now grocery stores. Well I am all tuckered out so I will see you all tomorrow.

Good morning everyone! The sun is shining, and it's supposed to warm up a little this afternoon. Thank goodness! I made a painting per hubby's request for the bath, and I need to varnish that sucker. So not freezing too much when I open the window will be nice.

Just puttering and trying to get moving again. Hoping everyone has a good day!

Mornin' all. Yes, I'm still around. Still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. Still, well, not feeling like I'm moving forward in any area of my life really. Oh well. And DH announced this morning that it appears as though his favorite (haha) season has arrived. That means he will be extra cranky until spring. That also means we might not see spring together. sigh. Got someone coming over tonight so I gotta try to clean this mess up a bit.

Have a good one!

Welcome Supermoo!!

I'm up, but not moving about much. It dropped to 30 here in north AL last night. My heat (set on 68) still did not kick on yet, which means having the windows caulked and painted really did help with cold drafts coming in. I still want to put some weatherstripping around the exterior doors. I checked the temp in the attic this morning and it was still in the 60s. That means the new roof may be helping to retain some heat as well. We used a wee heavier shingle this time.

Short of doing some laundry today and taking son to karate, I'm gonna be a slug today. Have a good one ya'll!!
