Mom's still not well. They are running more test. She's not happy and wants to go home. My sister gave her the cell phone and she tried to drink it but eventually realized she was to talk in it. She couldn't form any sentence that made sense. I know she wants to say the right thing but it wont come out that way. I told sis to have them check for any form of dementia along with further testing. Please keep praying. ♥

Still feeling bleah!!! I just had a horrible class. I feel like I was just out of it. One student's phone went off during class (I had to tell her to stop texting last Friday), and it just made me lose focus. I actually wanted to scream at her.

Sandy, does your Mom take meds? Does she dispense them herself? If so, maybe she's taking too much or too little. Just a thought. My own Mom went through Dementia and I know how terrible it is. Praying that it's something easily fixable. There's just so many things it can be. Trying to think positive.

It's sorta cloudy here today but no rain. I've been cleaning out closets and actually got alot accomplished this morning. Just taking a break. I need to drink my water. I can tell I haven't had my 32 ounces this morning!

Doing some laundry so I need to go transfer it to the dryer. Ya'll have a nice day!

Kitty, her blood showed her meds to be within normal limits so she hasn't taken too many or too little. The morning residents shook their heads because they don't understand what's going on either. The neuro will more than likely examine her this afternoon after clinic since he hasn't been there yet.

Sarah, that was the first thing we thought and Jim's doctor said the same thing. But these doctors don't think so and think it's related to the seizures. The neuro finally came in and thinks she is still having seizures and is going to run an eeg to find out. He seems to think they may have been going on all along unnoticed. He said the speech problem is a common symptom after a seizure so he wants to see if she starts to improve. He is not ruling anything out and said he needs to take one step at a time. I am not a good at waiting.

Jim's doctor did say if she had a small lacral (sp?) stroke there isn't anything that can be done to fix it and would explain her speech and cognitive problem. He did mention a brain biopsy but said at her age is that even worth the outcome since that could cause more problems? He said the best we can do is pray and hope the docs down there get it all figured out.

Now we need to decide if we should take a ride down there. I think I will wait and see how she is in the morning and after all the testing has been done.

Sandy - I do hope they figure your mom out quickly. Seizures can do mighty strange things. If she is having continuous seizure activity, that can certainly mess with her speech and thinking.

Sandy -- Hope they can figure out what is going on and help your mom.

I feel like whining -- head is burning, body still "feels" like it is shaking, IBS, increased spasticity, and starting to have some symptoms on my right side -- partially numb toes and fingers. Up to this point, my problems have mainly been on my left side. I am so glad that Monday is over. I am hoping that this is not a flare. There is no sense in calling my neuro as I am not using steroids unless I am alot worse. Okay, I am done whining for now.

Oh, Barb ... sounding like a 'flare'... and you need to find a 'happy' place - you had alot of tension (with the girl with the cell/texting) ... and everyone being out sick most of this class ...

take a warm bubble bath ... listen to some good songs ... watch a romantic, funny movie ... you need some "BARB-time"....

hope you are doing better ...
