My big news for the day: Trying to quit smoking.

Just up and decided that after 14 years of addiction, I hated the way it made me feel. Especially with all the allergy stuff I've got.

Hoping that God will grant me strength to get through this!

Morning all...
cold and cloudy again...is this November?

Wiz, good luck...I think working with you would be a bit of sunshine in the office! Let us know what you hear...

Jenn, it's a very difficult thing to do...I won't lie...the chemicals in cigarette smoke plug into the same cell receptors as the opiates...that's why it's so hard to quit. You might try using aversion visuals...I saw lung slices of a normal lung and one with emphysema...looked like concrete. Also the aids to help make it a bit easier sound like a blessing...didn't have that 18 yrs. ago for me...I promised my DH I wouldn't ever touch it again, and I haven't. It's a dirty, stinking habit. My drug of choice now is chocolate... Take one day at a time. Try to get busy when the crave hits. Distraction is the key, until your body is no longer addicted. Good luck!

Sandy, we cut our pond plants down and submerged them...the ones we did this with last year lived...my fish are still swimming and eating, so I'm not turning off the filter yet...

I have slept almost all morning...I don't understand why, just doing what the body wants...also have to do a 24 hr. urine input/output journal for seeing a urogynecologist. Ugh!

Hope everyone has a good Monday!!

Good luck, Fin! You'll feel better (and smell better! ) for it.

It's raining cats and dogs here today. Just like it did a few weeks ago when we had all that flooding. Our county is under a flood warning until 5:30 PM today. I sure do hope it quits soon. I know the people who were flooded out still haven't finished their cleanup from the first flood.....now this.......such strange weather for October, too.

I'm not venturing out in this mess today. Hope the weather is better for everyone else. Happy Monday!

Hi everyone! it is rather cold here today too! I am ready for Indian summer. It seems like we went right from summer to November weather. I just got home from school about an hour ago.And I am feeling tuckered. I was awake most of the night, and I took baclofen, lyrica, and ambien last night I need to finish grading about 25 exams tonight . Wish me luck.

Big to all! I read the past couple of days post and ya'll been busy!

I'm struggling with cog fog big time. I can't even construct clear thoughts to respond to each of you. SO I'll throw in some prayers and hugs for all.

I'm hoping this passes soon. It is frustrating not being able to talk or even help my kid with homework. We were trying to tackle algebra and I think I confused him more!

Maybe tomorrow will be better!

Good morning everyone...cold, but at least the sun is shining...

Pam, even when my brain was working, my kids learned not to come to me for math homework, esp after one of the kids got a D on an assignment in 4th grade! Hope the fog lifts soon...

Kelly, I was surprised you didn't say it was raining only cats, since you're partial to them. Seriously, hope the faucet is turned off in your neck of the woods soon...

Slept okay...but up early. Glad to be finished with collecting for the uro visit...I hate that!! I feel a bit more energetic, but I'm kind of scared to do too much, in case the fatigue overtakes me again. I slept most of last evening, too. I thought at first it was the increased amount of zanaflex, but I don't always feel this way, just once in a while. But it's usually the whole day (or three). Probably a fatigue thing going on...

Well, hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday!!

wiz...I hope one of those jobs is yours! good luck!

Pam...cog fog, yuck.

sandy, sarah, barb, holly, becky and all you have a great week!

me;....insanely busy weekend. It sucked to live in a New England sports
world this weekend...there is always next year.

My ds20 came home with the new girl this weekend. We liked her , she
was sweet. Ive been dealing with this horrible back pain and am ready
to be pain free. I have kept up with the excercises that the PT gave
me but the pain is actually worse.

Is it true is gets better before it gets worse?

I am going to my dad's this a.m. for an adjustment and I hope it helps.

I am so tired of dealing with all of my pain! Its making me very down.

Anywho....hugs to everyone!

It's sunny today! No rain.....at least until tomorrow and then it's time for flood warnings again. This is strange weather for us during October.

I got the last bunch of cherry tomatoes out of the garden. There's a bunch of tiny green ones but it's supposed to get colder at the end of the week so I doubt I'll get much more from the garden this season. We did get 2 more canteloupes and a few jalapenos but the canteloupes were inedible. Maybe next season we'll do better.

Kitten alert!!! I spotted two little kittens across the street yesterday evening. A black and white one and a grey striped one.....luckily Momma cat came along shortly thereafter so I know they're being looked after. Phew! Not that I could have taken them in but I was all set to worry about them!

Gotta go find something to keep me occupied today. I watched QVC last night for a little while and got the shopping bug again!

Everyone have a great Tuesday!

Good morning everyone!

Fin - Awesome! You do have the strength to do. Just dig deep and you will find it.

Vonn - Glad you are feeling a tad bit better.

Sox - Have you tried warming you muscles up a bit before you do the exercises? It helps quite a bit. Think about your muscles as an elastic rubber band. When it is cold it is harder to stretch. When it is warm it is much easier to stretch. To warm up you can shower and then stretch or take a 5 to 10 minute walk and then stretch. It really does make a difference. Glad you liked DS's new gf.

DebbieD - I never thought of keeping a input/output journal. I never realized that going at least 5 times a morning constitutes urinary frequency until I ended up in the ER with bladder spasms. Heck, I didn't even know bladder spasms could be so painful. 2 Advil wouldn't even touch it and sleep was out of the question.

Kelly - Send some rain over here. We need to cool this place down. I want fall! (*tkrik throwing a hissy fit). Well, the mornings are nice - 60s.

Barb - I think all those meds combined would knock me on my ask! I'm such a lightweight. LOL 2 Neurontin and I'm out for the count. 1/2 baclofen and I do the same. I've never had Ambien but I am sure it would knock me out as well. DBF takes Ambien and it's a trip sometimes as he is "asleep" but "awake" and the things he's talking about . . . So I won't touch the stuff. I hope you got a good nights rest last night and got all those exams graded.

Not too much planned for the day. I am anticipating more work to come in sometime today. I need to get my house cleaned. I am still working on doing a thorough cleaning. I've been taking my time with it but need to up it a bit. I put off moving in with DBF for a few more months due to my dad as well as some new issues with my mom. Right now I am only a mile away from my parents, DBF's is 15 miles away (1/2 hour away depending on traffic). With my family "descending" on us over the next month or so, this gives them and extra place to stay if need be. I'll just go stay with DBF while they are here.

Have a good day everyone!
