Not much time but wanted to leave hugs for Debbie:hug::hug::hug:

soxmom 09-21-2010 08:12 AM

Good morning!

deb...big hugs to you my friend...hang in there:hug:

Kel and Pam...I love fall mums too. This year I bought some beautiful
purple mums(I have never seen them before.). I put them on my
front porch and steps along with corn stalks and pumpkins. I love
fall decorations!:D

barb...I hope it cools down soon for you...it was soooo cold here last
night! brrrrrrr!

sandy...give Jim a big gentle hug from me. I wish this disease would
just give him a break!!!!!!!!:( Hugs to you too!!!!

moo, wiz, holly, weav, fin, tricia, everyone have a great Tuesday.

Update: I had an early morning(7:30) consult with my youngest son's
doc. We will be putting him on a low dose anti-anxiety med. He
told me I have been doing everything right but maybe he just needs
a little help from meds.:( I just want him to find his "joy" again.:(:o

I am off to the grocery store as the rest of the week is crazy with meetings,
volunteer work, open houses and blah, blah blah!

I hope you all enjoy your day!:grouphug:

Good morning everyone...happy Tuesday!! In store for heat today, and storms later...

Sox, I fervently hope and pray that the antianxiety med will help your little guy...sometimes it's what's needed...prayers that he'll be back to his chipper self soon...and thanks for your prayers.

I had a rough day yesterday with spasms, but I feel a bit better mood-wise today. I have a sneaking suspicion that the stress of worrying about my sister has given me an uptick in sxs...so I'm giving it over to God, 'cause I know the only thing I can do is call, listen, and tell her she's not alone...

I have heard that fall colors are at peak in central Wis already:eek: I worry that when we close up the cabin in northwest Wis next week it'll be past peak:(

Took an expensive bottle of wine and a small cake with a smiley face on it to FIL's for his 89th birthday last night...my MIL had trouble with one of her hearing aids again...DH fixed it, but she's having more and more trouble even remembering how to put in in her ear:( I think she's in a bit of a downturn again...it's weird how Altzheimer's patients can seem so lucid at times and then be completely up in the clouds...kind of like a switch..on and off...

Well, I hope everyone has a super Tuesday:)

Morning all! We are up and getting ready to see a representative today. Debbie, apparently no one in our group is going to this meeting like I thought and Mr. Cross doesn't even know we are showing up with Maryann. Scary! But we have a bunch of things going on and I'll let you know about them. I am talking with Quinn's people to get signage and stuff like that for our areas. I posted more info on the MMJ thread. I'm glad you talked to your sis. :hug:

Hope everyone is doing well. Jim's doctor called and he's set up for an upper GI and will be placed on an appetite stimulant and possible Ensure drinks to gain some weight. Will update on that later. His legs are actually better today and yesterday after lowering the Dantrolene. Go figure. :rolleyes:

Sox - I really hope your son finds joy again, too. That brought tears to my eyes when I read what you wrote.

Deb - The stress can definitely make sx go crazy. I had a massive increase in spasticity right after my mom died and my DH was in the midst of changing jobs. The neuro determined that it wasn't really a flare, just the stress.

Sandy - I hope Jim starts feeling better. I really hope they can straighten his meds out to get the right balance. I think we talked about it before, but have they ever considered the baclofen pump?

I'm back from vacation (got back last Tuesday night) and am just starting to get my feet back under me. We had an amazing vacation. My 10 year old said it was the best vacation ever! We did San Francisco, Reno, Tahoe and Virginia City. So much to see an do and we left little undone! We really needed a couple more days to actually do a few more things in SF, though.

Probably the best was the tour of Alcatraz, but DH and I just loved Chinatown. We also went out to the Reno Air Races and spent time with Cheryl (av8rgirl). That was great fun chatting with her and her DH and checking out all the planes.

Well, I'd better get back to work.

Holly, they don't want to put it in because of side effects, mainly infection.

FinLady 09-21-2010 10:42 AM

Big hugs and prayers for everyone!!!!! :grouphug::grouphug:

Hi all. Sorry I haven't checked in for awhile. Life's been a little interesting around these parts.

Had my first ever at-fault collision, with a parked car no less. Thankfully no one was hurt, but definitely not fun. Car is a little dinged, so have to get that fixed up. Rates are going up, but not as badly as I thought. I do lose my good driver's discount, but that's to be expected. :D

It has made me a bit more cautious as a driver, but that's a good thing. I also figure if it took me 20 years to do this, percentage-wise -- It's all good. :)

barb02 09-21-2010 01:44 PM

Is it really September 21? It is 92 degrees right now. :mad: We are not supposed to get a break in this weather until the weekend. I just got home from school. I was exhausted after my classes yesterday (my long day), but I am feeling better today.

Are any of you Glee fan's? I love that show. The new season starts tonight.

Soxmom - I hope the med helps your little boy. it just is not fair that such a little one is filled with such anxiety.:hug::hug::hug: to you and your son.

Jenn -- Sorry about the accident -- I had my first one ever about four years ago, and I was at fault. I backed into a car at a gas station:rolleyes:. It was an old beater and I did not do any damage to it, but my back bumper was crumbled. Insurance did not go up much, if at all.

Holly, Wow -- What a trip. I have looked at a few of your pictures. That is so cool that you got to meet Cheryl. I loved Chinatown too. Although I would never be able to walk up that hill to Chinatown now.

Debbie, You asked me if the rain would affect the fall colors. Have you ever been down to Cental IL? What are trees? It is all corn and soybeans down here.:rolleyes: And since there has been an early harvest, we do not even have cornstalks to look at. I actually have not noticed any change in what few trees we have so far.

Sandy -- Glad Jim's legs are feeling a bit better. Hope they can get the tummy problem under control.

Debbie D 09-22-2010 09:07 AM

Good morning everyone!! First day of autumn (except for Barb who is attracting the heat like a light attracts bugs;)).

Jenn, we've missed ya, girl...sorry to hear about the dinger. Twenty years is a long time...actually surprised your rates will go up...glad you're okay...

Holly, what a trip!! Alcatraz fascinated us when we toured it...what a sad place to be stuck. Glad all of you enjoyed it!:)

Going to finish cleaning and polishing the dining room furniture with Murphy's wood oil soap and lemon oil...it was so dusty from the remodel, and I haven't really taken good care of it since I took ownership of it from the inlaws 4 years ago. She loves coming over just to sit at it...feels like her old home.

Taking the inlaws to the glaucoma specialist today. Kind of dread it...FIL has a film growing over one of his eyes, which is making his vision even worse (he has no central vision in either eye-scarring from torn retinas right in the macula).
Anyway, he has asked the doc at least twice about cornea replacement so he can recover at least some of that eye's vision. Each time, the doc explains that he is not a good candidate, due to his age (89), his Parkinson's, and his borderline low platelet count. It would require several surgeries, and he'd bee on immunosuppressent drugs the rest of his life, which would put him in danger. But he just won't let up!! I can understand how frustrated he must feel...but he does not listen...only hears what he wants, and then does what he wants. But it's his journey...I just don't know how some of the docs don't just tell him to stop already...but they are very patient with him. Bless their souls...

Well, on to the cleaning!! Hope all of you enjoy your day:)

FinLady 09-22-2010 09:17 AM

Barb, it's supposed to be really hot in these parts the next few days, so totally hear ya!

Debbie, sorry to hear about your FIL's eye problems. :hug:

Everyone, :grouphug::grouphug:

~~~~~~~
Just trying to get cleaning and a painting done. I'm a wild woman, LOL! Not too much to report right now. :)
Hope everyone has a good day!
