It is actually about a 3 1/2 drive into the city and about 4 hours out to Naperville from here. I don't think I could handle the Chicago traffic right now:p

Barb, you should not have to go into the city to get to Naperville from your area. If you come up 57 north to 80 west and get off on 355 north (goes all the way to 80 now) you wont have to see the city. You could even take 57 north to 74 west to 55 north and hit 355 north that way too. You should never have to see the city coming back this way.

I forgot to mention I got a call last night. Mom had a another seizure! She has yet to go 6 months seizure free. Apparently the Celexa they prescribed may have been the culprit? We wont really know because mom's been messing with her pills again too. My sister found her re-arranging them today. Ugh

Yep, I know that Sandy. I was just thinking that it is quicker to get into the city(if I wanted to meet up with them there) and it takes longer to get to the Naperville area. I have driven up to Naperville a few times and also to Schaumburg area the way you described. I also meant I could not handle the traffic on 80 and the tollways.:)

Hi everyone. I am sitting in my office trying to stay awake. I am ready for my classes and reading some material for next week, but my eyes keep closing:o. It is dreary and raining, but the cold front has not come through yet so it is still really warm and humid. My big plans for the afternoon are pt and a dentist appointment. Exciting right! Kelly, Jenn, and Holly have motivated me with their weight loss so I started counting points on Monday (Weight Watchers).

Kelly, I hope your doctor's appointment went well yesterday.

Ssndy, Is your party on Saturday? The weather looks perfect.

Hope you all are doing well. I am looking forward to the long weekend since i have been hard at work for two weeks now.:D;)

SandyC 09-02-2010 12:11 PM

Yes, my party is Saturday. The temps keep dropping though and we may find ourselves inside by night! lol

I had my whole day planned, set up new futon, get tables and chairs upstairs and on the deck. But nooooooooo, the delivery has been rescheduled for tomorrow. I had planned mowing, trimming, yard clean up and last minute food prep tomorrow. ARGH! It rained today so I can't do much about the mowing but I will get out there and do the trimming and yard clean up today. No more rain coming. Don't you just hate when your schedule is messed with?

Hello everyone! :)

Had a busy day yesterday. Doctor's appointment went well.....minus some drama in the waiting room. While I was waiting to be called in a lady came running in the entrance saying she thought her DH in the car was having a heart attack! Several people went out to help, and a nurse eventually appeared. I would have thought they'd just call 911 and have an ambulance come and get him.....but the nurse helped him into the waiting room and he was still sitting there when I came out! He seemed okay....didn't seem to be in any discomfort.....but I would have called the ambulance anyway. Just to be safe.

Nothing planned for today except doing a little cooking and reading. I need a "down day"....yesterday was way too stimulating!

Ya'll have a great Thursday! :grouphug:

Sandy, I hope everything will be okay with your Mom. I know it's frustrating for you......not being able to be right there to actually see what's going on. It's so hard when our parents get old. :(

FinLady 09-02-2010 01:39 PM

Kelly, totally agree they should have called an ambulance to be on the safe side.

Sandy, sorry to hear that your mom had another seizure.:hug:

Wiz, hoping the MS stays in its little corner.

Barb, best of luck on the weight loss plan :)

Everyone, :grouphug::grouphug:

Got a BBQ this weekend, so trying to clean up the house for guests. The kitties are looking at me weird as I try to get stuff done.

Applied for a teller position at a local bank, took the test, and waiting to hear back from them. Gotta love the fact they don't tell you how you did unless they move on to the next step, lol. The only reason I considered it was 1) one of the few places the tellers can actually sit. 2) going a little nuts sticking around the house.

There's very few volunteer positions in the radius I'm willing to travel on a regular basis, but if this doesn't pan out - I'll look harder for things I might be able to handle. Nothing like having to admit one's limits, lol.

Anyhoo, I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday weekend. Stay safe! :grouphug::grouphug:

Went to pt this afternoon and they retested me on walking speed and balance and compared the results to when I was tested in June. The good news is that I improved on each test. The bad news is that I am sure my insurance will now continue to decline coverage for ampyra.

I also had a dentist appointment. I need to get two crowns with a bridge. My insurance only covers about 40% of the costs so the pre estimate is that my share of the cost will be about $1000.00 I have been putting this off for years not due to the costs but due to fear.:o I had another bridge with crowns done about 10 years ago, and it hurt like ****. They could not get one of the temporary crowns off and yanked on it for about 30 minutes. I hope my new dentist will be better than the last one.

Still waiting to hear from my sis how her and Anya's visit to the American girl store went today. She did post on FB that Anya said "this is the best day ever!" I have been trying to think when was my last best day ever. I think it was when I went to Ireland. The first morning that I woke up and sat outside in the gardens for about an hour by myself. It was so beautiful looking at all the green hills and seeing the ocean in the distance. I felt like I had come home.

When was your last best day ever?
