Hello everyone! :)
DS took me to the grocery store this morning so I could get a few items that I know I'll run out of before the end of the week. It's supposed to rain next week and I don't want to have to get out in it. My few items turned out to be nearly a whole weeks worth of stuff but that's just less I'll have to get next week. Well, I know ya'll are going to think I'm crazy (if you don't already :rolleyes:) but there are now four kittens and an adult cat in my backyard. I wonder if it's the catfood I keep putting out behind the barn that keeps them hanging around? :confused: :o The little kittens are precious....and so skinny. I can't just let them starve. They're all very skiddish and run if they hear the porch door open...which is fine with me 'cos I don't want them to start begging to come inside. I also cracked open the door to the storage barn so they could go in and have a dry place to sleep. There's nothing in there but old landscape stones and a lawnmower. I put a box with an old towel in it in there. I know I can't keep them but I feel obligated to do whatever I can to at least make their life more comfortable. My cats enjoy watching them from their perches in the window, too. Barb, you did alot of shopping! I'm impressed. I get worn out just shopping online anymore! :p Dej, I'm glad you're finally going to get some alone time. You'll enjoy it. I never thought I'd enjoy the solitary life but I've found that I really prefer it. Maybe it's the MS....maybe it's just me getting older....maybe a combination of the two. I'm just thankful that I'm content with the way things are for me because there isn't a whole lot I can do to change it. I'm missing Tricia, Holly, Sarah.....I'm sure there are more but my brain has decided to go on break. :rolleyes: Ya'll have a nice Sunday! :grouphug: |
Just checking in, :grouphug: for everyone!
I'm struggling... got a bladder infection trying to take hold. I've learned to put a pinch of baking soda in a small glass of water and drink one every hour. So far it has lessened the pain. Other than that, I'm just chillin' watching football and surfing! :D |
Quick update. Mom has been moved to a regular room. I tried to talk to her and she is like a borken record. :( Her brain is stuck on words. She kept saying "Oh, my daughter" over and over and over again. Oh and she was married to Gary Hopperkindle. LOL No idea who that is. The good news is she is trying. The bad news is she may take longer to overcome this... if she can.

Hi all,
Finally returned this afternoon from our time away from Varnishville...the floor looks wonderful and the smell is dissipating, so we're home for good, along with our old dog... Sandy, so sorry to hear about your mom...it's got to be so hard for you to be away and out of the loop...hope you hear about Jim's results soon, and that it'll only mean cortisone and maybe some PT...I need to contact Connally tomorrow...I've been out of it with either running around or feeling crummy lately, but I will do so...AZ just passed medical MJ...so even with the results against legalizing MJ in CA, there is still movement afoot for chronic sufferers. DS35 came over after the Bears game and helped DH move all of the furniture/refrigerator back, so we're comfy again...it was nice to lie in my own bed, but then the RLS/leg spasms began, so I'm up and about trying to get some relief...:( Nighty night all...sleep tight.... |

morning, everyone!!
been painting quilt blocks all weekend .. I have so many going right now - that none are 'done-done' ... but will be!! AND - received information from Hancock's in Paducah (Kentucky) about their quilt show in April ... and it's after tax season ... would be a great road, vacation, and business trip all in one!! go down with a ton of boards, and back with a fistful of $$$ ... wouldn't that be awesome? have a great day - back to painting, off to the lumber company ... so, I better get showered, shot and dressed ... yes, yes, yes ... pacing myself!! |
It's a rainy, cool day here today. Perfect jammie weather! I still have mine on!
This damp, cool weather makes my hands hurt. Especially my right hand. How can it be numb and still hurt so bad? :confused: Good thing I don't have to write or drive! I have a big stack of papers that I need to go through and either file or shred. I tried to do some yesterday but my right hand just doesn't want to cooperate and when it does it just throbs afterwards so I guess that chore will have to wait. Sandy, I hope your Mom improves. I know you're worried and wishing you could be there in person. You're all in my prayers. :hug: Okay, time for a shower and to get dressed....or at least change into fresh jammies! Ya'll have a great day! :grouphug: |
Sandy, still praying. :hug::hug:
~~~~~~ Busy weekend running errands and stuff with hubby. Don't have the stamina I used to, which drives me bonkers being in the late 30s -- but will get through this. The weather being up and down hasn't helped, lol. Still have some pain from tooth, but nothing like before. I think he'll have to do a little more work before he puts in permenant stuff. Had a couple of my canvas board paintings in a show this past weekend and they sold. :) I hope whoever purchased them gives them a good home. Finished an abstract painting in honor of my fur-baby. I started it pretty close after we had to say good-bye, but didn't have the heart to finish it until yesterday. As I expected, I cried my eyes out for about an hour after, but that's okay. So that's my long check-in, LOL. Take care everyone! :grouphug::grouphug: |
Debbie, patients are gathering on the 18th in Springfield if your up to coming down. :hug:
Mom is still getting her words mixed up. She doesn't seem to understand who "Shannon" is. That's my sister who's been taking care of her. We heard about a lady who would remember everyone except the one who took care of her. I hope mom doesn't do that to sis. But then again, since she's so ornery with sis, maybe sis can reinvent herself! haha I know, not funny but we have to laugh or cry. I'm choosing to laugh. Hope everyone is having a good day. :hug: |
