Hi everyone! Posted about my neuro appointment this morning in the gilenia thread. I actually have been in a pretty good mood lately. I think the sun and warmer weather helps me. Hope you all get out of your funky moods soon.:D I misspelled that the first time.

Sheesh. Didn't know I had so much company. :grouphug: I think I'm getting a few things figured out. I hope.

working on more 2ft x 2ft boards ... and 16x16 inch ... quilt blocks - trying to get enough to take to the last craft show for the year next Saturday ...

had a craft show set for this saturday - but it's going to be a long day ... overbooked my schedule - does anyone else ever do that??

painting quilt blocks vs quilting blocks ... I lean towards painting ...

did I ever post my mural here? here's the finished 4ft x 16ft ... and have received requests to make a quilt pattern (a book) with all the blocks in!

Good Morning! :)

Another beautiful day here. Not going to be quite as warm but still nice out.

I just read about a local farm that's having a Homesteading Day at their farm in a couple of weeks. I'm thinking about trying to make it. If I can convince my friend Julie to go with me. Or my DS....but I think Julie will be easier to convince!

They will have speakers on starting a garden next year and how to go about it, how to can veggies, how to begin a compost pile, how to keep chickens locally (and legally) and how to start your own seedlings. It sounds really interesting.

I have a new book I plan on starting today. I need to slow down so they last longer than a couple of days! I get involved in them and can't put them down. :o

I hope everyone is doing well. I still miss many of you who've not checked in for a while. I understand the need to take a break. I'm still thinking of you and hoping that you're doing fine! :grouphug:

TGIF!!!

Hope you all have a great weekend! I only have one class this morning, and then I am free. I have even caught up with all of my grading. Going Christmas shopping tomorrow.

Good morning everyone...trying to type with wet fingernails...:p

Barb, glad you're feeling better...:)

Vonn, that is beautiful!! you're quite a talented gal!!

Kitty, my DS33 and his wife have 3 chickens...they came with the house when they bought it. It's easy to care for them, and they get eggs daily. The only problem is mice, but you have plenty of kitties around to chase them away:)

The workmen are here putting the third and final coat of varnish on the wood floors..they look gorgeous. DH and I made the mistake of sleeping here...the smell is awful. So he's reserved a hotel room for tonight and tomorrow night. Since the doggie is at DS', we'll make a weekend getaway of it, including the wedding (the last of 7 this year) that we're attending Saturday.

I'm looking around on the internet for something to volunteer or get involved in...it's difficult due to my unpredictable sxs cropping up, but I have to find something to get me out of the house. I'm thinking of volunteering at an animal rescue place. I'm not keen on many things I find on the internet...just kind of lost right now, I guess.

Oh, well, hope everyone has a wonderful weekend...enjoy these days...you'll never get them back again:)

Vonn, you won't believe how beautiful that quilt piece is on my LCD TV. WOW you do really fantastic work!

I'm doing better today. At least no aches and pains. Our weekend is going to be spent winterizing/weatherizing the house.

Hey everyone! I got two pm's from Barb and Kitty so I better check in! haha

Jim had his MRI. We wont see the ortho until the 23rd but the tech said she did see some tearing. Let's hope it's something simple like therapy and cortisone shots. He's hurting pretty bad.

My mom is back in the hospital. She's in ICU as we speak, another seizure and she wont wake up like they want. This morning we were informed that we have to pay the rehab charges daily until mom's check comes in and no way we can do that. So, sis decided she'd bring her home and take care of her until she can afford a rehab full time. So sad that money has to be an issue. Sis has been looking for a job and can't find any so she decided this morning to bring mom back and just charge mom as if we hired a nursing aide. Actually mom is getting off cheap as sis will only charge what she would make at a regular minimum wage job. Anyway, sis was going to call and give mom the good news because mom was so upset yesterday about losing all her money to the rehab. Well, rehab called us first and was sending mom to the hospital. 4th seizure in a little over a month. :(

We are also getting ready to hit Springfield next week. Debbie, did you ever get to talk to Connelly? Do you want to go down with us? We're going down the 17th and staying the night. Lou may pull the bill, not sure yet as he never commits and doesn't want to get our hopes up. Let me know OK? Anyone else from Illinois who supports medical cannabis please come on down! Patients are rallying on the 18th to show support.

I got my holiday shopping started. The Pizza Presto was on sale at Walmart for $42 so I bought it because my son wanted one. Funny, he called me the day after I ordered to tell me he wanted one for xmas. :)

And my cousin's store in Lockport went up in flames. He was one of four businesses that were destroyed. They have insurance but no way it will cover everything. No one knows what started the fire yet. So sad. Here's a clip of my cousin Donald and Anne on the news. Their store was the one with the blue awning. :( http://abclocal.go.com/wls/video?id=7775395

That's it. Busy busy times around our house.

barb02 11-12-2010 07:27 PM

Thanks for checking in Sandy and letting us know what has been going on. It sounds like you have been just a tad bit busy. Sorry to hear about your mom and cousin's business. Hope Jim is ok. It was getting a little lonely around here without you.
