Sandy, sorry to hear about your mom.:hug:

Thanks for checking in, Sandy. I am so sorry to hear that your Mom is back in the hospital. The rehab situation is terrible. It's such a shame that everything boils down to money. I know this has got to be so stressful for you. You and your family are all in my thoughts and prayers. I watched the video clip on the fire. Your poor cousins! All that work they put into their store. I'm glad they had insurance but, like they said, they'll likely lose money waiting for the rebuild.

I've been thinking about Christmas shopping, too. Isn't Cyber Monday the Monday following Thanksgiving? I may wait till then but I'm definitely doing my shopping online. And I'm shopping through the ebates.com website this year. Check them out.....it's free and you get a cashback percentage just for shopping at places you'd shop anyway. You can make some good money especially with large ticket items.

Finn, I like your new avatar! Glad to see you posting, too. Hope you're feeling better.....I know you've been nursing an infection for a while now.

Okay, time for bed. I'm beat but don't know why. Haven't really done much today. See ya'll tomorrow! :grouphug:

Mom is still in ICU but they may move her to a regular room later because she is stable. But she isn't responding to commands. She opens her eyes, smiles at times, that's it. When asked to squeeze their hand, she raises her arm. This seizure went on for at least two hours. She did this last year in Knoxville but they were able to sedate her much sooner to calm the seizure until they put her into an induced coma. No coma this time but now it's a waiting game to see if brain damage occurred. :(

Vonn07 11-13-2010 06:04 PM

thanks all about the mural (and 2k2c - just imagine it 4 ft high and 16 ft long ... it does make a presence and puts joy in one's heart!)

Sandy - thinking of you .. I had my mom home, too, when she was ill (bone cancer) ... and she was 58 ... and not knowing what they are thinking or how bad they are hurting when they don't respond is very disheartening ... my prayers are with you and your family ... and praying for positive results for Jim's MRI ...

DebbieD - yeh, a varnish-high isn't good .. glad that you are making a fun weekend out of it!!

hope everyone is having a great weekend ...

in between painting boards and sketching out new patterns - I made a batch of peanut butter cookies ... and didn't burn them - I made sure to use the timer on the microwave to keep reminding me!! and they turned out great!

we had some yucky snowy, windy, wet weather today - so, I decided to stay home and not venture out to the craft show and set up ...

wanting to get boards done for the big craft show next weekend ...

AND AND AND ... received an invitation to the Milwaukee Machine Quilter Show in August ... just that it will cost me $600 for my booth and 4 nights reservation at the hotel (where the show is at - so, you may as well say it will be close to a $1000) .. will hold out on that for now - unless my boards are a big hit!

then, received the email from the IOWA quilt show - which will be hosted in Monroe, WI (close to the Illinois border) ... in April ... the gal will be sending me info on that! apparently, there aren't alot of people out there that paint 'barn quilts' ... like it's a lost art! hoping to bring that back!!

well, back to painting - have a good night!

oh, DebbieD - about volunteering ... what about calling the churches in your area if they are putting on a Thanksgiving dinner? and then you can pace yourself and help out that way? I think of what I could do, too - but, I can't stand long (especially in one place - I have to keep moving) ... and I can't sit for too long .. well, you know how it goes .. or why not contact the hospitals and see if you can go in and read to patients ... like Tom Sawyer ... or something fun like that?

Sandy -

Well, the funk fog is showing signs of maybe starting to lift. I hope so. Monday will be interesting though. I need to have a little chat with my boss about a few things, then see just how the selling of my DD's place of employment affects her. I'm not too worried about her job, but she is in major panic mode.

Sandy when my FIL was in a hosptial and headed to a skilled care place, they told us we had to pay cash because of the way things were structured. What they didnt tell us was that the moment he applied for state services (medicaid) they couldnt bill us. Whether he was accepted or not didnt matter, as long as he was "pending" they couldnt refuse him based on ability to pay. I dont know how things work in your state, but it may benefit you to ask. I am sorry your mom is not better.

Still in a funk of my own. Everything just seems to be a hassle. Everything seems to be harder than it needs to be. My DH is headed out on a long distance hunting trip and this will leave me on my own. in many ways I am quite happy about this, but its the first time since MS that I am alone for a long period of time. I have plans to do several around the house projects, and have out of the house stuff if I choose to do them. I have decided to take it very easy on myself and give myself a break. I think the solitude will help me recenter and focus.

The changing weather is kicking my bahookey. I am stiff, spastic and wobbly. This is such a stupid disease. many folks expect you to have trouble walking, but they dont expect you to stand there and have no idea of what their name is. *sigh*

I hope everyone had a good week. :grouphug:

Happy Sunday! I am doing some laundry and need to do some reading for class tomorrow. I also plan to do a little on line shopping. Went Christmas shopping yesterday. Left at 9:00 and got back at 4:30 so we were pretty efficient.

We went to Lowe’s, Target, Border’s, Coldwater Creek, Macy’s, J. Jill, Sephora, Prairie Garden(where my friend finally found a tree) and the grocery store. We also at lunch at Red Lobster. My leg is really hurting today; I guess I overdid it. Oh well. It only hurts when I walk.
