Hello everybody! :) I'm waiting for the "cable guy" to show up. I haven't heard from him and expect him to be late. It's not like I've got other plans, though.......:rolleyes:

Debbie, my DS backed into my car once. I was on the phone and standing in the front doorway watching him and his friends leave. There were 2 boys standing on the walkway while he backed the car out of the garage. My car was parked off to the side. I heard the distinct sound of metal hitting metal......and the look on the two boys faces as they stood watching.......I had to laugh. Poor DS got out and looked at the damage (which was minor) and apologized over and over again. I told him that's why we have insurance...I know he didn't mean to. His friends were afraid I was going to pitch a fit!

Looks like rain here and I really hope it does. We need it. I'm so ready for summer to be over. It's been brutal this year.

Ya'll have a nice Thursday! :grouphug:

It has finally cooled down a bit... it was 88 at noon instead of 100! We have had so much rain the last few days that the humidity has been rough. Barometric pressure starts changing about 3pm everyday and I get achy and just want to sleep.

First week of school was good for the 14 yr old. He's excited about his pre-AP classes. He got his ROTC uniform today and now I have to learn to iron and laundry uniforms again!

Other than that it's the same old same around our house. Stay in the AC and surf the net.

I think everyone needs to make their car a "No Phone Zone". :)

I know.....and it's so scary. Those kids don't know how dangerous that can be. Not just from the "drinking and driving" perspective but for their own health. Alcohol poisoning is not uncommon for young people who don't know their limits.

I'm so glad I'm not in that age category any longer. Life's hard enough without someone trying to convince you that being drunk or drugged is the way to be. :rolleyes:

Clouds, just wanted to say "hi" :)

Debbie, still praying. :hug::hug:

~~~~~
Stayed offline yesterday since I was suffering a major case of "foot in mouth" disease. :D Love having days like that, lol
Still waiting to hear back from the doc's office. I'll call them back monday to see what's up if I still don't hear from them. UGH! This is one of the reasons I choose my old neuro since this place got wacky the last time I went through their neurology department. Since the center's partnered with a teaching hospital, I'm guessing some of them are students.
But on the plus side, I've been on my new exercise machine every day. Still can't do much, but still plugging away. Weekends will be my rest time from it. :)
Stay safe everyone! :grouphug::grouphug:
Afternoon everyone...
My sister was taken to ICU yesterday afternoon. Her blood pressure dropped to 75/32 and her oxygen levels are around 47%:eek: The docs were trying to put her on a ventilator...she has a DNR, which her eldest son had with him. So what does his brother and sis try to do but override the DNR and have her put on a machine? All the while, my sis was saying "NO!!". My nephew got there in time to show them the DNR (why the hospital doesn't have a copy is beyond me). That's when they took her to the ICU and put her on a CPAP just to force air into her.
I read on Facebook a few minutes ago (on her daughter's page-way to inform the fam) that my sis's bp is up much closer to normal, but the doc said her kidneys are failing...not sure if this is true though because these people are kind of dramatic and crisis oriented...for instance, my nephew's wife told me yesterday that my sister had pneumonia. Her daughter said no she doesn't.
So anyway now I am contemplating a trip to see her. The problem is I have been having a lot of trouble walking, to the point I am thinking of getting the cane out (which I have been fighting tooth and nail not to use). I am also in quite a bit of pain from leg spasms...I am maxing on the dosage of zanaflex and the only other thing I think I could do is call for a script of a narcotic, which I am loathe to do...so I don't know how well I can travel...this has made me feel stressed out, which I am sure is exaserbating the MS. But in my gut I think she is dying, and I don't want to let her go without letting her know I love her...:(
I'll keep you all posted about what's up...please continue to send prayers out...more for her to find peace than anything else.
Hey all. Debbie, I am so sorry. Please try to take care of yourself as well if you go to see her. :hug:
Jim is miserable. The dantrolene was working and the doctor up'd it for nighttime but it isn't helping. I don't know if its the humidity or what but his legs have a mind of their own the past two days. He's in a lot of pain and his neuro asked him to hang on and let the dantrolene kick in. We are to call her Monday if he isn't better. If it's the Barometric pressure it would make sense.
Good days, bad days and no in between. :mad:
barb02 08-20-2010 06:12 PM
Sandy, I am sorry that Jim is experiencing so much pain in his legs. I hope the dantrolene does work.:hug:
Debbie, I am sorry to hear about your sister. Keeping her in my thoughts; also hoping that your muscle spasms subside.:hug:
I have been just laying low today. I only went outside to get my mail. We're expecting some storms tonight and tomorrow morning. I am so ready for some cooler weather. Is it too early to wish for a heavy frost to kill all of the pollen?:D I have not noticed any difference so far in my spasticity from the tapering of my baclofen. I reduced it by 10 mg for four days and today I start reducing it by another 10 mg.
TwoKidsTwoCats 08-20-2010 07:55 PM
Deb, your sis and family will be in my prayers. :hug:
Another lazy day for me.
Hoping for better days soon for all of us. :grouphug:
SandyC 08-21-2010 07:54 AM
We're going to the Cubs game today. Jim was up a lot of the night thanks to his legs dancing. They eventually got tired and went to sleep. He still wants to go so we're off...
Have a good day everyone. :hug:
