Hope you have a good time and that the Cubbies win!

Good morning all...
Sandy, sorry to hear Jim's legs are dancing...maybe that's why mine are too, even with strong meds for RLS. Lots of pain the last few days too...can't wait for cool temps, although when I was up north it was cooler and it didn't reduce the sxs...

Haven't heard from my sis's fam lately...I've been in such crummy shape that I haven't wanted to add to the sxs by getting stressed out. I'm not the best sis in the world...I will call today, since DH is here with me.

Hope all of you have a great day...go Cubbies...Sandy, enjoy the view...its' about the only thing you CAN enjoy there this season:rolleyes:

Debbie, still praying. :hug::hug:

Sandy, hope you and Jim have a good time at the Cubs game. :)

Everyone, :grouphug::grouphug:

Slowly waking up, but crossing fingers the coffee helps that out. :) Not sure what the day is going to bring yet, but hoping for a good one.

Stay safe everyone! :grouphug::grouphug:

Wow...I had no idea it was already 4:30 PM!! This day has flown by. We had the most severe thunderstorm last night. Kept me up for hours. Poor Panda was so scared.....she stayed on my bed all night. Never attempted to get down even to eat!

DS27 came over today and we went to lunch at Frontera. It is so flippin' hot outside today. And humid. Like a steam room. He had to go to a visitation this afternoon for a friend of his who passed away this past week. He was a firefighter and well-known/liked in the public safety family. I'm sure it will be a packed house. Very sad situation. :(

I plan on making a trip to Whole Foods this afternoon if it doesn't storm. The organic veggies and fruits at the local grocery store are woefully inadequate. And expensive. I wish more people would buy locally grown produce. Whole Foods has an awesome seafood department, too. Farm raised, locally produced fish that are really fresh.

Ya'll have a good rest of the weekend! :grouphug:

I LOVE Whole Foods. I wish there was one closer too me.

The nearest one to me is about 8 miles away....not too bad of a drive. But it's in a very busy and congested area that I hate to drive in. :rolleyes:

Have you looked at the Whole Foods website? They have some really good recipes for meatless entrees. Sometimes I'll make one of the black bean or brown rice recipes and eat that throughout the week for lunch and sometimes supper.

They also have a larger supply of Burt's Bees products than the drug store does. I love their lotions.

The nearest one to me is 2 1/2 hours drive.;)

Good morning all...a bit cooler here today...

Not too many here. Must be late-summer blahs or something.

I talked to my sister yesterday morning...she cried a lot...we told one another how much we love each other. When I got off the phone, I told my DH that I wish we could take her in. He said fine, whatever makes you happy...what a guy!!
Not sure how to handle it, though. She is indigent, no health insurance, has SSDI but no Medicare yet. We have to sort through all of these issues, plus what the stress might do to me.

Hope everyone has a good day...:)

Hello all! :)

Another hot day here today. Not doing much but staying indoors.

Debbie, you're so sweet to want to take your sister in. That's a huge adjustment to make. I know that you know what's best and will do what your heart tells you to do. You do so much for your in-laws.......I wish all families could be as loving as yours.

Barb, that'd be way to far for me to go. I think 8 miles is a trip! :o I got some talapia fillets and I'm going to fix them tonight. Just broil them with some lemon juice and a little Parmesan sprinkled on them.

I might think twice before going back to that particular Whole Foods alone. :rolleyes: I was picking out some cucumbers and this man looked at me and sort of raised his eyebrows a couple of times real fast......like he was thinking something "naughty" while I was picking out my cucumbers. :rolleyes::rolleyes: Good grief........I wanted to ask him if he was in fifth grade or what. He was probably my age. Just gave me the creeps. :mad: I didn't see him again after that. I'll remember him while I'm chopping up the cucumber for my salad! ;) :cool:

Ya'll have a nice Sunday. :grouphug:

Another hot day here too! It has been a low key day for me -- just reading and doing some laundry. I can't believe classes start tomorrow. I just keep telling myself that means cooler weather is on its way. I have some new school clothes so I guess that means I am ready.;)

I have been driving myself crazy trying to figure out whether I should move when I retire in two years. I do lists of all the pros and cons and think I have made a decision, but then I am not sure.

The heat in Austin from about May through September is a major concern. I don't feel like I really have anyone to talk to about this. There are so many unknowns regarding the state of the economy in IL and our pensions. Retirees that live out of state are experiencing a lot of problems in terms of medical insurance. It seems that out of state doctors and hospitals do not like waiting 18 months or so to get paid.:rolleyes: My family in Ohio just would not be there for me if I experienced major health problems. I have been worrying about this so much off and on. I guess I am going to have to try to just stop fixating on this so much and see what is going on two years from now. I hate being such a planner.:o UGH!
