Good Morning!

I have already been to the grocery store. I wanted to beat the students. The cars, mini vans, and SUV's are pouring into town. I am just taking it easy these last few days.

Jenn, I understand your frustration. I got mad at a woman on the phone last month when I was experiencing cable problems. I hate dealing with technical issues. I did apologize, but I wish I hadn't because she made the problem worse.:p I ended up having to have someone come to the house. I wonder is she did that on purpose:rolleyes:.

Kelly, Your sister definitely does sound adventurous. Is she a younger or older sister? It sounds like Eat, Pray, Love;). I am sorry she won't be able to visit you over Thanksgiving.

colleges students have high rate of traffic accidents

She's older......by 16 years! She'll be 66 in October!! You'd never guess it, though. She doesn't look it or act it! :p

She's the adventurous one in the family. Lived in Paris for several years. That's where her youngest daughter was born. She's been to Africa and Egypt. We have lots of pictures from those trips.

I live vicariously through her!

Hi Clouds!

Nothing much is new with me. Just the same old same old. But that's okay with me......I like my routine. No drama......no excitement.....just peace and quiet. Sounds boring, I know, but I like it! :)

Maybe the new "no texting" laws will help that statistic. I hope it will, anyway.

I think everyone needs to make their car a "No Phone Zone". :)

Good morning everyone!

Busy day planned. DD18 is moving back in to the dorms today. The car is packed up except a few odds and ends. Her move in time is 12 - yup! right as it is getting hot, hot, hot. I'm hoping DD20 will be kind enough to give us a couple of hours of help (driving there, unloading, and driving back). She said she was leaving today for her trip but slipped yesterday to say they are leaving tonight. I caught her. HAHAHA She was going to pack last night so she could help today. I'm hoping she will follow through. I don't like one-eyed driving.

Jenn - Don't worry. We all have days like that.

Kelly - Wow! That's quite a trip your sister is taking. She better bring you a t-shirt for changing plans.:p

Barb - Here comes the fall semester! When do classes start there? They start Monday here. The community college starts on Wednesday. And yes, I dread all the cars and such today. The students are on a move in schedule so hopefully it will go smoothly as it did last year. But traffic around the college will be nuts for the next few days. Then it tapers down some and at the Christmas break, it becomes nice again.

Debbie - LOL! What a reason to go home - sick of using the Iphone! Amazing how technology can dictate our lives. :D I hope you had a safe trip home.

Hi everyone else! Hope you all have a great day today.:grouphug:

One advantage of having a disability? I found a parking place right next to my building while everyone else is circling around.:p

Tricia -- We start classes on Monday too. Today is move in day for first year students. We have a lot of Panther Pals (students, faculty, staff, even the deans and presidents)helping to unload the cars and carry stuff in. There are lots of dollies too. We also use golf carts to move students and families around campus to pick up books, etc. I did not need to come into my office today but here I am. So I guess I am slightly looking forward to the start of classes.;) (The panther is our mascot.)

I have a busy day today -- pt at 11:30; dentist appt at 3:00; and book club at the Country Club at 6:00. One of our member's husband is a member of the country club so she hosts us there once a year.

Hope you all are having a good day. Heat and humidity have returned just in time for the start of classes.

Hi everyone...

Fin, I'm sure they understand when we fly off the handle...and it was rightly deserved, IMO...receptionists represent the office, so they need to handle all sorts of "stuff", esp when something goes wrong...

Barb, enjoy your last few days of summer break...

Kel, hope it cools off soon for you...sorry your sis isn't going to visit over turkey day...

Got home about 10 pm last night from DD's house. It was a crazy day yesterday. Her DH was leaving for work and backed their new (used) car into the other car while backing out of the garage. They've had their car 2 weeks...after he left, she was crying...glad I was there to talk her into a calmer state.
We took the other car in for an oil change and an estimate. It'll be around $1500 for that car. The guy at the shop told her that she'll only have to pay one deductible, since it will be two orders on one claim. But when she called her agent's office, he told her no, it'll be 2 deductibles...a total of $1000.... My DH knows some people higher up in that ins. company, so he's going to ask them what is the correct deductible. Her other car will cost about $500. So most of the morning was spent dealing with all that.

We went shopping in the afternoon before meeting up with my DH, and found a small boutique that had such neat things...I bought a small picture of autumn with a stand for my kitchen, some tea candles and a cute little mirror for my study. I could have spent much more, but we're trying not to overdo it right now...I only spent about $30...couldn't resist:p

Got the lawn mowed this morning and I have to take FIL to the neurologist for a checkup on his Parkinson's (which FIL insists he doesn't have:rolleyes:). I hate taking them to him...they hate it, too. Oh well...

Hope all of you have a wonderful afternoon...I have a sneaky suspicion we're going to have an early fall here...leaves have already begun to change a bit in northern Wis...

Forgot to mention that my sis is in less pain, but yesterday they did another CAT scan because they suspect that after getting her "going" she is still blocked, which might require surgery. I talked to her daughter yesterday after finally being able to get a call through. thanks for all the prayers...she's pretty down, feels like a victim of life right now (actually she has for a long time). I'm going to call later today to see what is up...
