i haven't eaten white bread in years. well...french bread for dipping up the sauce in chicken marsla...

don't use white suger...and like chemar...don't eat very much refined packaged foods.

i try to eat foods that have good nurtition. high fiber..lower fats..no trans fats..and i don't salt my food. just use lots of herbs and seasoning.

no soda either.

it's pretty easy to find raw type of sugars to bake with. (whole foods market has a good variety) i do use honey.

i also take whole rolled oats..not the quick cook oatmeal and put it in the food proccessor to make oat flour.

i wish i ate as much chocolate at home as i do here on nt. i'd be as big as house though. i do miss peanut m&m's, but i feel so much better after cutting them out.

oh clouds...you reminded me of something funny...the cocoa powder.

when my son..who is now 18 was 12, he wanted to make a chocolate souffle'. he saw it in one of my cookbooks.

i was overseeing him, trying not to help too much. i should have just stayed out of the kitchen.

i was helping him get the ingredients out. the box of cocoa powder was in a top cabinet. it slipped from my hand. the top popped off as it hit the counter. all the powder shot straight up inthe air..right into the ceiling fan which was on high.

kitchen...every nook and cranny..me...my son..covered in cocoa powder. we laughed so hard. what a mess.

I'm pleased to report that I don't suffer from a sweet tooth, so the only white flour or sugar I get is eating out, or my monthly fix of ice cream (when I don't forget it).

I eat stuff as close to the way God made it as possible. It's simpler, and in my opinion just as easy. I'm afeared of food that comes in boxes, I have no idea what most of the polysyllabic chemicals are and I don't want them in me. 85 lbs. ago, I sang a different tune and was well on my way to becoming a negative statistic.

I still drink an unreasonable amount of coffee, diet Pepsi and brewed tea. I don't foresee cutting any of those out, and I don't care!

Default omg, curious!

that's just so funny with all that cocoa powder going everywhere. oh, i just remembered..... one time, i got a package from my cousin. it was a manila envelope, so i tried opening it. couldn't, so i use a pair of scissors to make a cut and ripped it open. *poof* i was covered from head to toe in powder! it was apparently an insulation padded envelope, which i had never come across before. eeesh! it was a mess, since it went all over my desk, as well. what a cleanup. in the envelope was a birthday present - a box of jigsaw puzzle. it's so hilarious, though. and a weird surprise.

Wink

I also try to eat things as plainly as possible. White flour? No, not if I can at all help it. I eliminated it from my diet eons ago. Whole grains, whole wheat and as little sugar as possible for me. I can't handle rice in any fashion (white or otherwise) as it makes my joints pain terribly. I'll take a sweet potato anyday and only remember the days of white potatoes.
