yesterday was "Hog Day" and I took about 200 pix...

we started at dawn, and didn't finish up until 3 pm.

it was unbelievable exhausting, but we had LOTS of help, thankfully.

and we had a local "pro" to help with the hard parts.

we made lard, sausage, chitlins (called chicharones here), froze some giant quarters, and hung strips to dry, preparatory to being smoked.

then, we all sat down to a muy delicioso celebratory meal prepped by a Maya woman.

to make the day complete, I got near-paralyzing foot/leg cramps at bed-time, and was close to tears.

sent hubby to fetch the Baclofen, but alas, my bottle was EMPTY.

so, today's GOAL is to go to the Farmacia, and try to refill... (gasp, moan) after we attend the big AG SHOW in the capitol.

plans are for a brunch date, and a meet-up with a bunch of expats we know online.

I'm going in well-prepped, with ankle-supports, and AFOs (hidden by long gauzy skirt) and my cane...

I don't know if I can handle it, but there's too many things I want to see there, and it's the only event of its kind, so I CAN'T miss it, argh !!!

I'm dreading the start of the day, and STALLING by hanging out online before getting ready...

oh, give me strength !!

:hug:

Kay, Hope your day goes well and everything works out. LOL, I know all about the being online and stalling things. ;)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Beautiful morning here. Sun is shining. Have my cup of coffee.
Still a little beat, but have some puttering to do. If I feel up to it, might start some yard work. But for now, that is on the "wait and see" list.
Hope everyone has a good day. :hug:
hanging in there starting to get angry going up the chain of command tomorrow why does he get to go run home and hide and wait this all out while I and my kids the victims in all of this are the ones getting screwed?
That's right Renee! I don't care what they say about it being a civilian issue. It's not a civilian issue when he lied to his command and family services about it. He not only lied to them, he lied to you and abandoned his family in the process. While your at it, contact the base chaplain who will help you get things started.
hi all ..
well, the wedding went off without a hitch!! there was even applause during the ceremony for those two old coots to tie the knot!! they are like 2 - 16 year olds!! I said to someone later ... it was pretty neat to see a church full of family and friends that accummulated AFTER 66 plus years! pretty inspiring!
I have homework and more projects to work on today to finish up ....
Renee - Sandy is right .. the base chap would be a good start .. and also there should be some sort of family-support system too.
going to work on my business plan for the corporation - to drop it off at the bank this week ...
weather is sunny but rather breezy ...
Whoops, forgot to update. I am racking my little brain on how to pay peter and paul. Too many projects, too many cc charges. lol I HATE owing on a cc so this will not be pretty. The lawn needs landscaping, the contractor needs to be paid for staining and installing my baseboards. Could I have done this myself? Yes, but I value my sanity as much as my cc bills. Basically this means no extra mortgage payment for three months and no adding to savings.
Ha! I am beginning to feel like my dancing cats only stuck like they are. lol
Renee, wish I had some advice to give you as well. But there seems to be a lot of good ideas given to you already. Know it's not fair, but I'm hoping all turns out ok for you and the kids in the end. Hang in there! :hug:
Vonn, Glad the wedding went well. Sounds like it was a great time.
Sandy, ugh. I hate doing the bill shuffle, but sometimes needs done. Hope things get better soon.
~~~~~~~

Taking a break from my puttering. Got a lot done this morning, including the bills (yuck).

Too windy right now to do yard work. LOL, having trouble standing up straight with how hard it's blowing. But they say it's supposed to calm down later on. Keeping fingers crossed.

Fin, I can hear the wind howling passed my house. Creepy.

It has been a quiet day for me so far. I have just been reading, but I am going over to a friend's house in a few minutes for a cookout and birthday party for her ten year old daughter (Katie). It is also windy and kind of cold here ( I am afraid we are going to go straight from this weather to 90 degree days.), so I suppose we will be eating out burgers inside. I made Katie a bracelet and got her a gift card for Limited Too. She never gets to shop there, and according to her all of the popular girls get their clothes from there. I did clear it with her mom first. So I should be popular today.:D

Kay, Just reading your posts makes me exhausted.:)

Renee: Hang in there

Hope everyone is having an enjoyable Sunday.
