I'm in north west Ohio and though there was a tornado siren, it missed us. I thought it might cause the electricity to go out, so I went & got some flashlights from the basement. There was lots of wind but the worst missed my neighborhood. Other neighborhoods in town got lots of branches & limbs down & electricity out. My dd went to work the next day at the shopping mall & half the mall was out.
Anyway, about today... My son & I went to my FIL's & cut son cut the grass as I did the weed eater. FIL is 80 & has bad back & can't do much. After mowing, my son put in his a/c (carrying it from basement to second floor). As he did, cuz grandpa is to weak, I felt proud & smiled thinking 'Look at my baby, he is so strong & capable. What would grandpa do without him?' My DH usually does that stuff but with him gone, Steve is the only really strong one that we all have. I already did some laundry, I'm gunna go work on my puzzle.

You guys be careful with all the storms flying around. We hit 102 today and they are calling for more of the same tomorrow.

It was scary as you know what when the tornados were flying around here a couple weeks ago.

Hello again  I came again to tell you we just had a quick thunderstorm after I loged off before. My one dog is afraid of storms, she always goes behind the couch or such. This time I went to my son's room & she was hiding under the bed. LOL awwwww. I was cooking & she came to me & stood up putting her 'hands' on my leg. We went to the living room & I sat down & held her. She's 11 & no longer wants anyone to touch her, usually she shows her teeth at me when I put out my hand. She bit once & thats when I stopped touching her. My dd got a dog 2 yrs ago so now we have another in the house. Since I pay so much attention to this 'intruder' she might be jealous??

Aw, Lor. DBF's dog is petrified of thunderstorms. He will hop right up on your lap, which would be OK if he was a lap dog. He's NOT. He's a 70+ lb chow/lab/pit mix. He snuggles his head down on your neck or chest during thunderstorms. Hope your dog is little.

Lor, My kitties don't like storms either. I know it's bad when they share the space under our bed without fighting, lol.

We didn't get any storms down here. Just hot, hot, hot. Think I'm going to fire up my iced tea maker to see if it still works. Plus homemade sweet tea is sounding real good right about now. ;)

Hope everyone has a great day. :grouphug:

Good morning everyone!

Fin - What is sweet tea? I've heard others talk about it and I really don't know what it is. I mostly drink regular tea, green tea, and/or orange spice tea.

I'm not up to much today other than working with the new fur ball to get it to trust us as well as train it to use the litterbox. Since it is a feral cat I am sure it is not trained. LOL. It should be fairly easy as cats are so easy to train.

I hope you all have a good day and all you mid westerners are safe from all those storms.

my kitty does what I call a "Thunder Walk"

she hears it before we do, and begins this body-low-to-the-ground slow creeping thing.

then we know it's almost time to SHUT 'ER DOWN, to protect our electrical equipment.

thunderstorms in the tropics are simply a-double-mazing!

Sittin here drinking a nice hot cup of sweet peach tea...
TKR...sweet tea is just regular tea that has been sweetened with sugar, etc.

I got a real shock when I first moved to Florida...everything was unsweetened...fortunately, they have become more civilized...cause a tru suthan bell can't drink her tea without sugar...lol

Feeling much better today after a week of some type infection in which they had to lance a spot on my body...they thought it might have been staph...now they are not so sure...waiting for some tests to come back.

I go back Wed and hopefully that will be my last trip for awhile...it will make the third in less than 8 days. I am taking three antibiotics, which makes me feel worse...

But all in all today is a great day and I am still here kickin...and screamin, and kickin...did I mention screaming...oh wait...that was just a voice in my head. lol Reminding me that I have some calls to make...lol

Well momma I could have given you a piece of duct tape instead of you getting it lanced.
