He may be thinking that you are way out of his league. Let's face it, despite your illness and disabilities, you do SO, SO much. There is the perception out there that disabled and ill people are not able to do anything. It is quite the contrary for many of us. We have limitations but are still able to do things. That kind of freaks people out; at least in my experiences.

Hang in there Queen Vonn. You'll get that hug from someone when the time is right.

Haven't 'dated' for more than 42 years and then it would have been my DH so I'm out of 'date' to say the least!

My DS dates and wow, judging by what a 'date' entails now days...I'm so glad I don't have to go through that.

Seems like a 'date' is more like a commitment than fun and easy going.

We once got into credit card debt and I can tell you it is a bad place to be. By using some of our home profit (after selling the house) we paid that debt and never get behind anymore.

We do use cc's though and just pay them in total every month. IF you cannot pay them off don't spend the money (unless of course, it's a dire emergency).

We only use one card and it is one with perks. May as well get perks for what you spend. In our case it's air miles and DH uses the flight to go skiing evey year.

Credit card companies make it pretty clear what you are getting into. Nothing is for nothing. They are worth having because it is important to establish good credit and also to use when traveling. IF you want reservations you have to give a cc number or make them well in advance and send a check. I've done it both ways, but if I am traveling and no particular destination I can't send a check while on the road.

The card companies are a business, read the rules carefully. A payment out of sequence (minus the bill in particular) is probably considered like paying extra on your mortgage. It will be applied, but you still get a request for a monthly payment.

Don't think of the CC company as anything but a business; not a personal affront to you.

Hey Kelly ... I asked a friend the 'what if he asked the same night he calls?' and her response was 'if I feel good, then go ... if not, be honest and tell him why you can't' ...

I have an inkling that he may do the same thing THIS friday ... but, heck - I have papers due and returns to print etc ...

he waited almost 8 months to call ... and has heard since last May that 'I've been sick' ... I got my head outta my butt all by myself and feel so much better in the direction I'm going ...

this has to be either a 'help' or if it's a hindrance .. I have things to do! (don't want to sound like a jerk ... just that I'm tired of being used) ... right??

LOL, I agree men do not come with instruction booklets. I will say that my DH seems to be in his own time zone. I always X2 any estimated time he gives me. 15min = 30min, as an example.

Hope everyone has had a good day. Work was busy and I have to wake up early for training class tomorrow - so it's probably a good thing I'm exhausted. Maybe I'll get some better sleep tonight. Tossed and turned, but managed to get through most of the day ok.

Diane, thanks for the advice and background on your experience. I have never been in cc debt nor do I personally abuse my cc. I also know how the cc companies work since I have been an adult for some time...haha I do take it personally when I have been a loyal and faithful payer to my cc and never late. I do take it personally when I call to ask a question and I am treated like an idiot. I do take it personally when they are getting paid to answer my questions and not the other way around.

Simply put, I have money to pay my cc's. I can choose who I want to conduct business with. I have been with my cc company for four years and have never been charged a late fee, ever. Someone at the company did not take the $1000 I sent and apply it to that months bill. I specifically sent the payment in for that due date so I am not buying into the excuses. I can take my money elsewhere and have that right. It's not personal, it is my business to make it business on my part.

Kay, girl you hit the hammer on the nail! The big companies are reaping the rewards and I think the recession headed our way will make things even worse.

Carolyn, LOL I did kick butt and put my app in for another card asap. As soon as I hear from the new company I am calling the "old" cc and telling them to take my payoff and shove it where the sun don't shine!

Greta, whoohoo! overseas is fun. Lonely at times but fun at the same time. I lived in Krumbach Germany for about a year and met so many wonderful people. The perks of military life eh? Kudos on starting a new family too!

Renee, did you call the Tysabri people? I hope they have some answers.

For anyone not in the know. Renee called me and was in a lot of pain in her liver and upper kidney areas. She is not sure if it's from the infusion or something else and couldn't get in to see a doctor today. I am waiting for her to call me back. If I don't hear something soon I'll call her and update.

My update: I renewed my military ID today, dropped off Jim's specimen at Hines, cashed a check at the bank, had my ring cleaned/looked at and took the dog to the vet. I lead such an exciting life huh? LOL

I had a similar problem as you and Cayo.

Had the same card for 7 yrs, never late on a pyment. suddenly got hit with 3 late payments and fees, plus a way higher rate. Kept calling and being talked to like dirt.

Got my cancelled checks back from the bank - they don't give them back now, just photo copies - and sent them to the CC company. I had PROOF I had sent them in plenty of time and they had been cashed and returned to my bank before my due date.

I was fuming.

I cancelled that CC account. Had another card for a year. For NO reason - not late on any payment with anyone! - they raised my rate almost triple. That was not in their fine print anywhere.

My last car payment... never late on any of them. The finance company paid it towards the wrong account. Called me to say they were going to repo my car! I got that check from the bank too.

So it's not US, it's THEM.

CCs do nothing for your credit, BTW, they are nothing but a liability. You want a better credit score? Buy something *90 days same as cash* and pay it off.
