"I see Frank, Sarah, Kelly, Kay, Weave, Jen, Sandy, Renne, Tricia, Wiz, Vonn, Lurkers, and everyone else." :Wave-Hello: I am sorry if I forgot you name this time.:Scratch-Head:

Now I am off to school.:OuttaHere:

(Based on this post, you would think I reach nursery school.:o)

"Magic Mirror tell me today...did all my friends have fun at play? I see........" I guess my name wasn't very popular so she rarely called it. :(

Oh yes, I was a Romper Room kid. I loved the game where you reached into the bag and tried to determine what the item was. Not too sure I'd play that game with my friends now!! :p :D :eek:

FinLady 09-10-2008 09:15 AM

Barb, I remember Romper Room. LOL, they never said my name either, despite the fact that it became a popular one.

Weave, :hug: Wish I had some words of wisdom for you. But know that you are still in my prayers. :hug:

Vonn, glad you're feeling better.

Kelly, I admit it was kind of strange finding out I was the youngest one there, but they were a great bunch and I felt welcomed anyways. They said they would have called me the youngest anyways since I'm the one who is most recently DX'd. :D

Sarah, Try to enjoy your days off. :)

Renee, Hope the day gets better. :hug:

Everyone, :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

~~~~~~~
LOL. Think it's going to be one of those days. It took me about a half hour to type this out. :rolleyes:
Just sipping my usual morning cup of coffee and making my to do list. I think it's going to be a short one - LOL.
tkrik 09-10-2008 10:09 AM
Barb - I remember Romper Room. LOL. One time they had this girl on there and she was to put her hand in the bag and tell the lady what it felt like. The girl said, it feels like yellow. LOL My brother and I, even at our young age, knew the girl peeked. We still laugh about it to this day.
Fin - Glad you enjoyed the group.
Kelly - Again, thanks for not calling me. lol I was sleeping at 6 a.m. your time. As for your DS, I would be no different than you. When having kids, we imagine them staying as these cute cuddly babies without realizing they grow up. (And in my current situation, teenagers.:eek::eek: LOL.) The feelings of protecting them, wanting them to be safe and happy never goes away.
Weave - Still keeping you in my prayers. I know it must be tough on you. As for the kids, you may be surprised at what happens. DDs had a Disneyland dad for years and then it stopped. However, they always wanted to live with me. Although they fight the rules, kids thrive on the structure and rules. Somewhere along the line they figure out the difference between the Bank Parent and the Love Parent. Hang in there!:hug:
Hi everyone else! Hope everyone has a good day!
~~~
Not doing much today. I am reorganizing my kitchen as someone bought my old, old curio cabinet yesterday. I really didn't have much in it at all but I need to find a place for the few wine glasses and nick knacks that I had in there.

My dining area looks so much better without the cabinet in there. Nice and open. I love it.

Once I finish the kitchen, it is off to DDs room!:eek: If you don't see me on here for a few days call 911. LOL. Those 2 girls have way too much clothes. I think they have at least 5 of every color tank top possible. I swear, any spare money those girls have they buy a tank top. I banned them from buying anymore. LOL

SandyC 09-10-2008 11:17 AM

Hey everyone. Jim is stilling feeling fine, the same, no changes so that's good. I am going to finish my kitchen painting finally. I was in limbo so to speak with Jim going in or not going in the hospital.

Trish I rearranged my kitchen the other day too. I knew a friend that added slats under their cabinet to hold their wine glasses. I think they sell something similar like that at stores like The Great Escape or maybe Hobby Lobby?

Everyone else have a good day and stay cool. The weather is once again beautiful. Tomorrow Jim and I will go out for a bit and then I have to take the pets in for their annual checkup.

:grouphug:

PS: Romper room, that b*@ch never called my name, never.

Yea, me too. I watched them so much I felt like they were family. :D

weegot5kiz 09-10-2008 11:45 AM

weave then you lay the law down to him that there will be no underhanding of the rules. period end of discussion, those rules are there for a reason so the kids learn and deal with rules later in life, the kids are gonna do what comes natural, it is up to him to show you and those kids respect by being just as firm as b4 the split,

Kelly I can imagine how nerve racking that has to be, we have a son in sat com in Afghanistan, cant tell you how much we worry

Actually Sandy and I talked the other day about a GTG, because we got wiz Deb me my deb sandy jim jan who is knew is not that far either and maybe that pixie dust shooting gal daisy mae, vonn is a bit farther and barb too I know there are a couple more, our problem is deb works weekends, but it has been crawling around this hollow gord I call a skull

Becky21 09-10-2008 11:46 AM

Sandy, good news about Jim.:D:D

I'm getting my hair cut and highlighted today!!!:D:D:p:D:D I am getting ready to call my Neuro to see if she is settled in her new office so she can look at my messed up thighs.

I hope everyone has a great day. It's rainy and cool in OKC today. It just feels wonderful.:)

Hugs,
Becky:hug:

SandyC 09-10-2008 11:58 AM

Becky, I just colored my hair. I got so tired of going to the hairdresser for 2+ hours to get mine done. I am going to keep doing this until the highlights and lowlights grow out. If it looks like crap then I will consider going back. lol Otherwise if it looks good, I'll keep dying it. I am over 90% gray and lately my gray is growing faster than ever so paying anywhere from $60-$80, sometimes as little as $40 every month will get to be too much. I was only going every two months but my hair grows so fast that it needs to be monthly now. UGH I colored it a dark blonde because that's pretty close to what it is now. I may have to go darker later as it grows out.

One hairdresser told me to get a bleaching cap and pull some strands out and color them a lighter color to have highlights. She said don't use bleach, just buy a box of color one shade lighter than what I use. That's a pretty cool idea and one I may just try on my own. lol

Jim laughs at me and says he'll love me no matter what color I am.

Frank, Jim is glad he's finally going to meet you. Do you guys want to meet at our house or a place to eat or what? We could maybe dip a line in at the lake if the weather is good and you have time.

:hug: of course I remember, Barb !!

Miss Nancy said my name sometimes, and yeah, it was exciting !!

"Romper, bomper, stomper boo.
Tell me, tell me, tell me, do.
Magic mirror, tell me today.
Have all my friends had fun at play?"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romper_Room

we had a black and white console TV, with rabbit-ears antenna, and there were only 5 channels... 2, 4, 5, 7, and 9.

9 was KQED, Public Television.

Thanks for that interesting link, Kay. Good grief......there was some controversy even back then!!

I saw a skit on SNL or one of those late night shows about Romper Room but it was the "R" rated version....it was hysterical! :D

Delegate, delegate, delegate! LOL I delegate too but I hate micromanaging the girls. If I ask them to do it, then need to just do it and not have me breathing down their necks. I think they secretly like me constantly reminding them to do their chores. LOL

weegot5kiz 09-10-2008 02:59 PM

weegot5kiz 09-10-2008 03:51 PM

OH paaaleeaseee deb just said lol

she knows me better, but still the same, I have to admit when I typed it I thought whoa this isnt a cool name for a kids show

SandyC 09-10-2008 03:53 PM

I saw Bozo, Wizzo, Cooky the clown and Professor Andy in person. I was an adult of course and came across the tickets by chance. The boys were little and it was so much fun! The studio is so little we were elbow to elbow. I will go pull out the pic of Jim and all of us together.

Here's some trivia for you all. In October 1961, Don Sandburg joined the show as producer and principal sketch writer, and also appeared as the mute clown "Sandy", a character partly inspired by Harpo Marx. He was announced at the start of each show as "Sandy the Tramp", although Sandburg himself preferred to be called "Sandy the Clown."

LMAO

weegot5kiz 09-10-2008 04:04 PM

my dad had an antique piano he had refinished when I was a but a lad, and along with money for the piano Bob Bell one of the early Bozos gave us tickets enough for all of us cousins and our moms, and I got to meet him and talk with him for a little, for me it was a weird thing at that age, he sure didnt look like bozo or behave like him matter of fact he was normal, whats up with that lol,

did ya ever send in your postcards to be drawn for the grand prize game or whatever the bucket and ball thing was called

Sandy wasnt ray rannor oliver O'oliver clown you know what was great about those shows in chicago, now I cant remember if the networks shows broke away for weather or anything but these shows here always had some info for parents getting their kids ready for school news sports wether and of course ray rannors Turtle races

SandyC 09-10-2008 04:13 PM

Frank, it was called Bozo Buckets and yes I sent in my postcard. lol I think your right about O'Oliver being our very own Ray Raynor.

OK, blast from the past. This was taken when Chris was about oh, maybe five and Nik was 3, maybe 1991. Don't laugh at my pants or anything you hear me? I had rushed home from work and had to go lickety split! hahaha Cooky was holding on to Jim so he didn't have to use his crutches.

http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/i...n/bozoshow.jpg

And an even bigger blast from the past is Jim and I at the ripe age of 19. Awwww.

http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/i...sandyage19.jpg

Blues Girl 09-10-2008 04:35 PM

Great picture Sandy!! You two are sooo cute!:)

Not much happening here today....just laundry and some cleaning. Dinner is in the crockpot, so I won't be spending much time in the kitchen this evening!:)

Take care and have a good evening everyone!;)

SandyC 09-10-2008 04:37 PM

Tara, when are we going to be talking? You just let me know when a good time is and I will be on it! :hug:

No dinner here, I slacked and painted instead. Maybe a pizza?

Oh some good news! Jim's doctor called today to check on him and run some meds passed me. I asked him if Jim doesn't start to feel better than now or gets worse can we do outpatient antibiotics? He said absolutely! Jim said we'll make a vacation out of it staying at a hotel. lol

barb02 09-10-2008 04:45 PM

Cool pictures Sandy! I did not realize what I was starting when I mentioned Romper Room. I grew up in the Pittsburgh, PA tv area. I did not watch much tv when I was little, but Romper Room and Captain Kangaroo (which I thought was boring) were a substition for pre school.

Does anyone remember Chilly Belly Theater? I think that was the name. They showed scary movies on Saturday night (I think). I'm not sure if that was just a Pittsburgh thing.

CayoKay 09-10-2008 04:46 PM

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww is right !!!

how perfectly adorable you two are !

I'm not mad .. just numb ... if I knew this - I would of applied for jobs and collected unemployment and had some money to live on ...

worth it to get a lawyer?? should I call the 800 number that they show on TV?

soxmom 09-10-2008 07:07 PM

weegot5kiz 09-10-2008 07:20 PM

thank you everyone about our son, this son also informed us a while ago he is leaving tonight, Me I give up trying to talk sense into him and deb is numb,

Sandy thank you very much, I got home and deb was excited cause you had called, I thank you Kindly:hug:

Vonn might not be a bad idea only problem is it isn't any quicker I have been dealing with it close to two years now. I'm praying, things fall into place for you:hug:

again thank you everyone....

SandyC 09-10-2008 07:39 PM

Vonn, I am so sorry. I don't know what to say. :hug:

Sox, you got it. I am sorry you have to worry. :hug:

Frank, I enjoyed talking to Deb even though the tone wasn't as upbeat as we'd like. I told her we have an emotional bond and that made her laugh. As a mother, I am so worried for your son. It makes me sick to think of the worse. I pray this is real and they make it. :hug:

Vonn07 09-10-2008 07:44 PM

no need to worry ... Sandy ... I'll be okay ... probably will stay offline for awhile to figure my whole life out ... seeing that I lost my job, my home, and my debt is eating at me!! LOL

all will work out ... thanks for hanging in there with me thru this last year from he!! ...

when a doctor dx's a person - it should be automatic (oops, someone will abuse THAT priveledge!)

I'm okay ... talk soon! :hug:

SandyC 09-10-2008 07:46 PM

Vonn, what happens to your apartment if you don't have income coming in? What have you been doing since you applied for SSDI?

CayoKay 09-10-2008 08:32 PM

oh, Vonn, that blows !!

my heart aches for you... definitely appeal the decision, and see if you can find a specialist lawyer to help with the appeal, perhaps?

Frank, tell Deb I'm singing Pink Floyd to her, that song about being numb.

my prayers are with you guys, and your son, that this relationship works.

remember, it all worked out for me and my husband, and hey, it worked for you two too, right?

keep thinking positive, but be there with open arms, so he has a fallback position.

*************

today was gnarly in the jungle... a miserable day for me.

leg spazzes up the wazoo, and left leg jerking all over town.

sinus headache, plus achy back, plus generalized bad mood.

today is a big national holiday here, and last night there was live bands and a parade and a big ol' party going on in the village until 3 am...

Battle of St. George's Caye

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_...rge's_Caye

so, I didn't get much sleep last night, between the leg aches and twitches, the headache, and backache, and wave after wave of hot flashes...

:eek: and :confused:

and the music kept my geese and ducks restless and noisy too...

then, all day today, I kept having the worst leg and foot cramps, the kind that make me whimper and do childbirth breathing, when I discover I'm gritting my teeth, and feeling snarlish and grumpish.

I prayed for calm serenity and inner peace, and healing, and then I hunted for the Baclofen...

oh CACA !! I'm OUT !!

:eek: and :mad:

so, I called my GP for help.

whoops! it's a holiday, and no docs or farmacias open...

:eek: and :(

and my middle-of-ugly-divorce friend came back last night, very tipsy...

sigh and sigh and sigh...

luckily, she spent the day in the guesthouse, sleeping it off, so I didn't have to be helpful and supportive during my bad day...

I made it through my evening feeding chores just barely, I was staggering to get back to the house...

I decided to be pro-active, and take a nice warm shower with candles and incense and soft classical music.

I spent a whole hour in ther bathroom, trying to get centered and attitudinally-adjusted.

since the cistern is full (13 thousand gallons!) from all the rains, I didn't feel guilty, and just enjoyed myself, scrubbing, doing a pedicure, and a manicure, and a facial.

then, I splayed myself out under my mosquito net canopy, with the fan on full blast, with an icy tropical fruit wine cooler, and rested for a bit.

and now, VOILA!! I feel almost human again, and mi esposo is calling me for dinner, and I might actually be able to SMILE...

:hug: :D :hug:

Sandy - this is low-income housing ... so, I'm okay ... used my 'tax biz' income (which isn't much) to establish the rent amount ... but they approved me until I get the SSDI ... and then I can still stay here - it only will increase my rent amount.

been selling quilting stuff ... and painting some for cash to survive ... finally got the food stamp approval (full amount) until there's an income to drop that amount lower ...

CayoKay 09-10-2008 10:23 PM

love your new location, sweetie!!

:D

now wondering how long it's SAID that?

deduct 50 points from my observant level if it's old.

add 50 if it's really actually new.
